An excellent shave with The Trench. I am a bit biased when it comes to HAGS, having added a sizable amount of Dimitrios' offerings to my collection. What I particularly appreciate about HAGS is the performance of the various bases and an approach to scent homages that deliver clear and refined notes. The scent inspiration for The Trench is Wood Sage and Sea Salt by Jo Malone. I have never experienced that fragrance but descriptions seem to be aligned with this homage. In particular I find the delicate balance of light marine and citrus notes to deliver a refreshing but calm experience. While the overall scent strength is relatively modest, the scent notes are apparent and subtly persistent beyond what might be suggested from initial application. During an un-relenting extended summer, the Trench is a welcome respite.
