Hi All,

I've been working with Joe from Black Mountain Shaving on a custom DFS scent for a few months now.  We've hit on a scent blend that I like and one that was well received with the testers I sent it out to and now have it going into production with Bill at Murphy & McNeil.  The first batch of soap will be in Bill's Kodiak base.  Subsequent batches of soap will be in the Aon base.

The following products will be made: shaving soap, EdP and 2 splashes, one with and one without alcohol.

These items will be sold exclusively by Gareth of TheShaveSupply and Bill of murphyandmcneil.

The shaving collection will be going live on 11/17/23 on all sites!

Although not my top shave soap formula, I really like the Murphy & McNeil Kodiak base. The AON base is excellent as well, but I prefer Kodiak.

I am also a big fan of the scents produced by Black Mountain Shaving. The Horizons scent does contain some lemon and synthetic cinnamon to which my skin is sensitive, but since these are such complex scents, I suspect that I will be able to use it. I am keeping an eye out for the release.

Thanks for working with Joe and Bill to bring this new scent to fruition.

I am aware of the pass-around. However, I have evaluated so many soaps over the years, I can usually look at the scent description and tell whether I will like it or not and whether it will cause problems for my skin. Although some citrus and spice notes can cause sensitivity issues, if a scent is sufficiently complex, I can usually use it without issue. Based on the description of this collaboration, I am pretty sure I will like it. I have so many soaps in my den that I only purchase soaps if they have high quality formulations and high quality scents. This one should check both boxes.

I have the good fortune to have picked up Gotland and Valle Crucis, both collabs between Murphy and McNeil and Black Mountain, and both in the Kodiak base.  IIRC these are the two most recent collaborations.  In any case, they are superb IMO, and I can't wait to try DFS Horizons!   Happy

Hi andrewjs18.   Now that we know the date will be 11/17, do we also have a time yet?
