I've had my blades kept in a couple small boxes and also in these two towers but when I wanted to find something different it was a PITA trying to find what I wanted. So I finally got around to sorting and organizing therm.

How do you store your blades?

This first tower I made. It holds Gillette Perma-sharp Tucks, SE Blades and Injector Blades...
BTW, These towers have plexiglass on the front to hold the blades in and a slot at the bottom so you can pull out just one. Cool

This next Tower I bought years ago. It hold Feather Tucks...

And because I was playing with them I counted 1343 blades. Not as many as I thought I had. But enough to last a few months. LOL.

I have 1,000 Wizamets alone and over another 1,000 assorted variety of DE blades. Nearly 300 Gem SS and a ton of injector and AC style blades. More than I'll need in my lifetime. More in various locations but nothing stored more than stuck in my secretary desk, under the sink and in tackle trays.

Before I started my blade evaluation thread, I had about 1000 blades which I kept in a drawer in my closet. Like Jerry (Gasman) I use a Plano fishing lure boxes to store those blades for which I have limited quantities. I also use those same type of boxes to store straight razors. Bulk blades remain in their original packaging.

I figure that if I shave every day, I will use about 100 blades per year. However, since COVID I only shave every two days, so 1000 blades will last about 20 years. During my blade evaluation series. I added quite a few new blades to my collection such that I might now have enough blades to last 30 years. According to the actuarial tables, my "Use By" date will expire in 14 years. If I go back to shaving daily and if I am able to wet shave for the rest of my life, I still won't use all the blades in my stash. No male in my family has ever lived past 82, which is only 8 years away. If I meet my demise at that age, I will have a lot of blades to include in my estate. Unfortunately, my only male heir is my son-in-law and he shaves with an electric shaver.

After the blade evaluation series ends, I plan to have a PIF of the blades that I do not like well enough to keep. However, first I have to do a blade inventory. That is not my idea of a fun time, but the weather is supposed to be awful next week with temperatures as low as zero F. Thus, I might just stay in and count blades.

Posting Freak
Nice thread.

¬ I am 62, and my genes will likely get me to 92.
¬30 years at 120 blades per year gets me to 3600 blades.

¬ I have 3000 blades [predominantly Permasharps, Feathers & Personna Israeli Reds].

I am deciding what to get next thanks to Rays work. I am liking the Bic Platinum Chrome, Gillette Yellows, Gillette Blacks, Tatra Platinums..... and a few Wizamets are in house which i need to roll through my tools. I will fill the last 600 with the blade that performs the best in my mild razors [M1, Karve B, Timeless 68, Feather A2D2, GC68, Carbon -, Mild Alpha, Wolfie 61, and the Overlander].

Cigar boxes work great. I have a solid supply. If you boys want to try any or one let me know.

I found these at Dollar Tree. 4 for $1.25 and they work quite good for me. I usually get 6 tucks in each. I am also using one to store my extra base plates in.
