Another cool and interesting historical shave artifact! The ad is fun to read as well as looking at the photos you took. This must be from a British paper or magazine, given the price (shillings and pence?). At the bottom, if you respond to an advertisement, please mention Winter's Pie?!! What?!

Thanks and yes this was a British made razor by the same patent holder of Auto Strop in the late teens. They at some point merged which in turn merged with Gillette later and why you see the 3 different 7 o'clock blades by Gillette. This predated them but Gillette now has the rights to the name.

Copy / Paste from another forum where patents were being discussed.

"Jack Gaisman (an American) created both the Auto-Strop Company AND the 7 O'Clock company.
The Auto-Strop company was an American creation, but he soon set up shop in both Canada and England before WWI under that name.
The 7 O'Clock company was a British company and set up in 1914-5 by Gaisman. Thus, he owned both companies long before the merger with Gillette.
Auto-Strop and 7 O'Clock could share patents without fear of infringement as they were related companies. However, Auto-Strop was known for its unique stropping system and 7 O'Clock never used that system. Conversely, Auto-Strop never used any stropping system but its own, so it never shared in 7 O'Clock's stropping system. In other words, each company used its own stropping system."

My Google-fu failed! Wasn't there a commercial when we (Dave and I are the same vintage!) were kids that had the lines,
Float like a butterfly
Sting like a bee
The great smell of Brut
and the punch of Ali

But I can't turn it up! anyway, that is one Yuge bottle of Brut, Dave!

Fabergé Picks Mohammad Ali
"Nadler & Larimer for its client Fabergé is rushing three new 30‐second commercials out to TV stations in 15 markets and the NBC and ABC networks to be added to their pool of athlete endorsements.

All three star Mohammad Ali, the new heavyweight champion of the world, so naturally there is a bit of poetry delivered by the champ himself.

Well done, Dave! I need to try actually using Google. What? you say. Yeah, I am trying MS Edge, which uses Bing as the search engine. But glad to know I wasn't having hallucinations about those ads!

Edit: used Google, 3rd or 4th entry was the article you found. Guess Bing needs to up their game!

Ooh no Eric, you use Bing? That's Microsoft, and they're absolutely lost. Google may be the 'evil empire', but they actually do produce results.
