I make no apologies for refusing to read past such a sad and depressing statement as. "Narrowing down to 3-4 razors"  That is thinking that is as wrong as Caesar crossing the Rubicon. I admire Dave's intestinal fortitude to embark down a path I cannot go. But will not pretend to like such anti pack rat behavior. Now if you will excuse me. I have to climb over some stuff and get something to drink.

Caesar had to cross the Rubicon.  What choice did he have?

Hey Marko.  In hindsight I should not have added Caesar to my analogy.  And just said that whittling down razors is as bad or worse than  crossing the Rubicon with my army behind me.

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Wizamet (?)
Brush: Dragonsbeard /Synthetic
Soap: Dragonsbeard V2 Sample
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Dragonsbeard Skin Food Splash
Fragrance: Prada Luna Rossa Black

Decided to do another 3017..............................of a sample. Going to use my Sample of Dragonsbeard V2 until gone. Maybe 2 more uses. I did the schmear on the face and lather method again today but will probably bowl lather the rest of the way. Not that there was an issue with lathering which was stupid slick today................that's a good thing on the face. Not so much when losing grip of your brush handle  Big Grin Speaking of the brush, I do love it but may swap the knot out again. While I love the look of it with this red tip synthetic, it has just WAY too much backbone. Even at this loft it is tough to splay. This is why I like to set knots with Marine grade silicone in a handle I know I'm keeping. I may pull a known good performing badger to put in here as the Handle and Stand are keepers. I just need to find a knot I like enough so it is reached for frequently to use. Maybe the Whipped Dog Silvertip in one of my Rubberset 400 ferrules will be grabbed. That's all I got for today, Have a safe and happy weekend DFS !!!

Great shave Dave! What is the difference between a Whipped Dog Silvertip and a Maggard’s SHD?

The Maggard's SHD would be more dense like an Oumo but the whipped dog is good and size appropriate for the handle.
