Project Tech Gillette with no date code or patent numbers as it is stamped they are with packaging. Don't anyone tell me this is some rare and VALUABLE Gillette as it was used for an experiment I had seen done elsewhere and had me intrigued. I restate that I did NOT come up with this idea but saw it done by someone else. WHY !!! you ask..........................Because we can and

Here's the $5 razor I started with.

Now add a Bench Grinder and some filing and sanding and you get this now a single edge razor that accepts half a de blade.

The handle was really rough so I swapped it for a brass handle. Again this was an experiment and I will try it with a better specimen that I may get plated when done if it turns out well.

Wow. That's awesome Dave.

Curious to see if the shave changes with only half a blade or if it clamps that half well enough to be the same.

OMG! What did you do?! That was a Unicorn Gillette, for crying out loud. Did you not realize how rare those Regus Patoff Techs are?!

Razor: Ever Ready Streamline
Blade: Gem (1)
Brush: Rubberset 400 Oumo Badger
Soap: Zingari Man Blacksmith
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Dragonsbeard SFS
Fragrance: BVLGARI Man in Black Essence

Another run with the Streamline and what a difference a fresh new blade is. This thing is built like a tank and with the heft you can use a light touch and it runs thru the whiskers like (insert your favorite analogy here) I made more of an effort to hydrate my face due to the shorter and stiffer stubble. Used the Kiel's Cleanser from ExtraProtein and still had to move slowly with the razor around the mouth on the ATG pass because of the Kevlar whiskers. If I took that approach though it scythed thru what was there and I am as slick skinned as an eel. Finished up with Dragonsbeard SFS and the MIB Essence from BVLGARI and I am smooth and smelling good for this mornings services. Have a Stellar Day Everyone !!!

Me too, it shouldn't as it has the clamp areas intact but we'll see when done with the test drive of the Streamline

Nice read, and good morning to you!  I really like that vintage barber chair clock, does it have a story?  And that razor on loan from Mr. White, wow. Original condition, or a replate? Either way, WOW Happy2  I can only imagine what feelings a gent a hundred years ago, or thereabouts, felt pulling out that tool every day for his morning ablutions. Or maybe just a chore. But with tools like that, versus a plastic, disposable cartridge razor, I know I would feel more pride (?) in the morning ritual.

The razor is original. It has a scratch that's hard to see on the cap but in amazing shape.

Thanks Mike and Eric, the clock can be bought off the bay. It was pricey and I held off for quite awhile wanting it. Gave in once when I had some ebaybucks to use.

Lol. That would be quite the feat... if I'm correct, AC blades are quite a bit wider than DE blades. Time to break the blowtorch out.
