I wish the search function on BST Archives worked better for me.  It is probably fine and I’m doing something wrong but I do find it hard to locate some of the previous sales.

Mike, I'm dense sometimes. What do you mean "in the minority" ?
Less people are willing to sell at break even or at a loss vs attempting to capture the maximum value.

I know one member who made a deal on a nearly 3K dollar razor (not with me).  Then after agreeing to it they wanted more money for PayPal fees and shipping.  Finally they did a crap job boxing up the razor and shipping it out.  Guess what, the packaging was damaged.  However they didn’t insure it. Long and the short of the story, I have no respect for that and won’t spend a penny with them.

I wouldn’t call most flippers just opportunists.  I just can’t do that, it’s not how i view this hobby.

My 2¢:  The people Dave has in mind are traders.  Traders should be required (1) to pay an annual fee determined by management, (2) to have their member names displayed in the same red font as vendors and moderators, and (3) to have their "location", which appears immediately below the avatar, read "TRADER" in capital letters.  Determination of the fee and of who is a trader should be at the sole discretion of management.

It seems to me that there is enough incentive for the suggested approach to be emplaced and to keep it policed.  It would identify traders for who they are.  Personally, and despite the off-putting aspects of flipping, I think a case can be made for what they do.  In any case, a seller with his eye on the road who gets buy-all-you-have offer from a TRADER will have to ask himself "Have I priced these things too low?"
