Congratulations on a super brush. The current D-01 2-Band hair Bernd is using is the best, yet, IMO. Not without some initial scritch, which is to be expected, but considerably less than that of 3-4 years ago.

So, after my 1st shave with the 'Americana' (Shavemac 24/48 D01 2 Band).. Well, straight out of the box, I could tell that The 'Americana' was going to be a wonderful brush, and it did not disappoint. Many people say it reminds them of Simpsons Manchurian, and I can see the likeness, very firm and springy, but it also reminded me of the Rooney 2-Band Heritage, dense, with outstanding 'presence' (backbone), although not as soft tipped ATM. It is scritchy when using a circular motion, but fine when using a paint stroke, but it was the first use, and should 'relax' after several more uses..... An awesome brush, and one I'm delighted to have in my collection.

It is definerly not for everyone, but those who get along with them, usually LOVE them.

Great looking brush and Bernd is a master brush maker.

I'm glad you made these comments.  Right out of the box I thought my D0-1 two-band was essentially not usable.  I could not believe the amount of scritch these knots had.  After a few weeks of breaking in [not including face lathering] it became an excellent brush, but I really had to work those tips to soften them.  Maybe it was just the batch of hair used in our knots because the descriptions D0-1 brushes posted here do not sound anything like the brushes I received.

Anyway, congrats and good luck to the OP.  The knot will only get better.

That's a beautiful brush!

I just got a DO1 Two Band myself, and when I took it out of the box, I figured I didn't need my wire brush for cleaning the barbecue grates anymore!
