I saw in another forum Larry acknowledged a rust issue with more recent lots of the metal tins. Apparently, the manufacturer of the tins switched to a cheaper (and obviously less effective) plastic coating on the tins.

All three of my CRSW tins began to develop rust around the inside lip of the tin.

Larry had to find a different vessel to hold his soaps because of the rust. After reading some of the uproar over the change in packaging it would lead one to think it is a publicly traded company listed on the NYSE.

There was a problem with the packaging so he changed it.

The new Select jars are great. Very solid and the soap rests beautifully inside. A bit different than the Premium jars but just as nice.

Today I received lavish and citron. I have yet to lather the premium line soaps. However, the scent of these two are fantastic. Lavish is the best lavender scented soap I have experienced. Citron is fresh and green. It reminds me of another of my favorite soap scents...T&S rainforest.

Does anyone have any feedback on the "original" line?

Citron may be the one I have to try, if it is anything like T&S Rainforest.

Beg my pardon, but are those the nice thick walled jars other artisans (one in mind) has had before? My point is, is that those are the best plastics jars i've used, until said artisan moved on to different ones (also nice, but less so).

PS: If Mike is reading this: we like the thick walled slightly taller tubs over the tins. However, let the great community here vote what they want, and perhaps persuade this change?

These are different jars than the "one in mind" you are referring to. Larry's new containers are the finest artisan jars available at the moment imo.

The Original line is wonderful. I went through quite a few of them back in 2014 when they were released. A softer soap with great performance and scents. More suited for spring/summer use as I prefer tallow and lanolin this time of year in Vermont.

I believe they are the same as those used by Sapone di Paolo. They are very nice.
