Chanel Égoïste Platinum aftershave, with sandalwood in its base notes, matched very well this morning with Ethos Grooming Mysore Santal.

Yes, the floral and citrus top notes of the Chanel make it sweeter, while the Ethos is 'woodier.'

This morning I used Dopo Barba di Camaldoli to finish my shave. I don't know its scent notes, but it is light, powdery, and slightly floral, with green melon tones and very slight menthol. This was followed by Ethos Grooming Succès, which is pineapple-forward and a bit sweet. Both of them are very fresh, crisp, and clean, and they worked well together.

Today I enjoyed RazoRock XXX aftershave, followed by Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia. The XXX has top notes of bergamot, orange, and lemon; its heart notes are lilac, lavender, rose, and basil; and base notes are hay, tonka bean, patchouli, musk, sandalwood, and oakmoss.

The Mandorlo di Sicilia top notes are green almond, star anise, orange and bergamot; middle notes are white peach, ylang-ylang and jasmine; and base notes are Bourbon vanilla, tolu balsam, white musk, and cedar.

They share top notes of bergamot and orange, have similar floral heart notes, and have musk and woods in their bases. The complemented each other quite well.

Both products this morning were from Calvin Klein. They share scent notes in all of their phases, and they blended really well.

The Obsession aftershave has top notes of cinnamon, lavender, coriander, Mandarin orange, lime, bergamot, and grapefruit; middle notes of myrhh, nutmeg, carnation, Brazilian rosewood, pine, sage, jasmine, and red berries; and base notes of amber, vanilla, sandalwood, musk, patchouli, and vetiver.

The Euphoria Amber Gold has top notes of cypress, thyme, and bergamot; middle notes of honey, sage, jasmine, and oregano; and base notes of amber, incense, leather, and vetiver.

Little in common but the name. Today's aftershave and fragrance both feature vetiver and sandalwood, but not much else shared. The Guerlain Vetiver aftershave has top notes of bergamot, tobacco, lemon, nutmeg, neroli, coriander, and Mandarin orange; middle notes of vetiver, pepper, carnation, sage, orris root, and sandalwood; and base notes of vetiver, oakmoss, leather, civet, myrrh, tonka bean, and amber.

The fragrance, Commodity Vetiver, has top notes of blackberry, apple, and petalia; middle notes of jasmine and jasmine sambac; and base notes of vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, and cedar.

Despite their complexities and differences, they blend very nicely.
