Charcoal goods machined brass

Good evening, gents. I am writing to give a brief review of a razor I have been using for over a week. It's the charcoal goods machined brass de razor. First, let me say that price is a bit high, but honestly, I have a Wolfman and that is the benchmark for well machined pieces of art, and for me charcoal goods is very close to the same league.

It is machined brass which I purchased in antiqued finish. The blade gap I requested was the mildest. It is fairly compared to the edwin Jagger de89, but maybe a hair more aggressive. I have sensitive skin and coarse beard hair. I have some aggressive razors (razorock wunderbar and timeless double open comb wider gap). I can shave with these but need light touch and greater mindfulness. This razor was automatic. Smooth, extremely comfortable, and very efficient for me. I felt like I would have trouble cutting myself even if I had tried.

Another surprise for me was just how slick the head felt on my skin. You'll see in the pics that the cap has very fine grooves machined into it. I know they were originally put there for aesthetics, but I noticed it accumulated soap in the cap grooves which I assume made the glide of the razor as effortless as it was. This razor is my current number 1 right next to razorock black mamba. I cannot recommend it enough. I asked about machining tolerances and can share that info the manufacturer shared with me later if folks want to know.

The handles he offers are gorgeous as well. I bought hammered look with brass and antique finish.  They are narrower like some vintage gilletes. I am very excited to see when charcoal goods comes out with other finishes. I think he offers a return policy in a similar fashion to att, but don't quote me on that point. Kudos to another high end and high quality razor manufaturer!

Oh, and if milder isn't to your liking, he offers 2 other levels of aggressiveness. He is doing mild, medium, and aggressive.

That is a gorgeous razor!

Great review. I've been watching Charcoal a while, just never pulled the trigger. He's getting really good!

Very cool razor! I love the handle styles that they're offering. It's crazy how far the baseplate extends past the top cap and blade. You must have to use a pretty shallow angle for it to cut anything. It must be pretty mild as you say.

this thread convinced me I needed a razor as unique as Charcoal's antique machines brass. I couldn't stop drooling over the OPs razor.
