hi all,

sorry for the delays...some personal stuff going on in my life that has kept me occupied.

that aside, I received the razor from CarbonShavingCo. a few days ago and gave it a go yesterday. 

first to comment, the glue that is used to hold the label onto the container that the razor is shipped inside of is a little weak.  I passed along these photos to Carbon and they noted it...






second, the polish on the top cap and base plates compared to the 1st pass around razor they sent to us, to my eyes and in my opinion, is way nicer looking...

I used the + base plate with a new nacet blade. the razor has very low blade feel & audible feedback to me. nice efficient shaver. I had about 1+ week of growth. I believe my blackbird sb shaves me a touch closer than with the carbon + base plate. perhaps the ++ plate will match what I'm used to with my blackbird sb shaves.. no nicks or weepers..

The razor comes with the R2 razor handle. while I like it slightly better than the original, I'm not a fan of how the handle narrows out in the middle. nothing wrong with the knurling or machining on the handle that I could see..

oh, and the razor comes with a washer for the base plate doesn't get marred up.

I'll use the + plate again in a few days and then pass it off to the next person. I'll use the ++ plate when it comes back to me at the end of the pass around since I'm not a daily shaver...

Here's the current pass around list for the Carbon razor. This pass around will include 1 handle, 1 top cap and 3 base plates: the original base plate plus 2 new base plates Carbon has designed.

Since there's only 1 razor being passed around, please try to get the razor sent out to the next person via priority mail after 7 days of usage so things move along at a decent pace.
