All, CarbonShavingCo. was kind enough to offer 2 razors to pass around on DFS to users of this forum.  I think the standard pass around rules should apply, use the razor for a week, pass it off to the next person, then share some feedback in this thread.

I'll start a list below.  When being asked to be added to the list, please tell us what state you're in.  I'm thinking we should keep this to USA users, perhaps maybe Canada too, but I'll defer to CarbonShavingCo. on this as it's their product.

List (I'll reorganize the list once I get more state information from everyone.  We'll probably have 1 razor on the East coast, the other on the West to expedite the shipping, etc.):

East:
andrewjs18 (Pennsylvania)
Asafiev (Pennsylvania)
gregcss (Virginia)
shaveSymptomatic (Florida)
Shavemd (Ohio)
ANG69 (Massachusetts)
Nh wet shaver (New Hampshire)
Hardrock (North Carolina)
dmiller622 (Tennessee)
vadim (Maryland)
MarsEnglish (New Jersey)
Dragonsbeard (New York)

West:
TheHunter (Arizona)
HoosierShave (Indiana)
gvw755 (Washington State)
Captainjonny (Washington State)
Einar (Wisconsin)
Dayman (Georgia)
Kehole (California)
jmudrick (California)
bobmsp (Minnesota)
IanG153 (California)

I've just read through this thread. What I found quite amusing was the chain of reactions:

1. "Hey, a new stainless DE, I'm totally interested!"
2. "What?? 300$?? To hell with you vultures!"
3. "Wait, a free pass around? I'm totally interested, sign me up!"

Big Grin

If there was a "head only" option I might give it a shot, but that handle is killing it for me.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

This is good that CarbonShaveCo is sponsoring a pass around of their razor. Gives shavers a chance to try their offering and decide for themselves if it's worth the price tag or not. It would have been better if it was done before the release and would have given the wet shave comunity a handle on their product, plus word of mouth spreads pretty quickly on these forums so it might have helped their cause in justifying the initial price point it was released at.

I still believe that for what the razor is and it's construction in a standard 3 piece design with quality 316L Stainless nonetheless, was still a bit high on the introductory price of nearly $300. There are no intricate cuts or new design innovations that could have made one look at it and say "now there is something new that I haven't seen" and consider it further.

As a further side note, I do work in the metals industry as a CNC operator with multiple type machines that include Column, Turret, Bed and a few plasma cutters in varied 3in1 mills/lathes including 3+2 and full on 5 axis set ups. I'm not going to go into the intricacies of set up and cutting procedures of the equipment that would be used but, I will say that this particular razor is just some 2 dimensional cutting that can be accomplished on a 3in1 milling machine. There are no complicated cuts or a 3 dimensional cut requirement that I can see. Again, I'm not them and I don't know what they (CarbonShaveCo) were limited to in terms of equipment and perhaps had to do multiple set ups on equipment(s) and stations to get to their finalized product.

Hopefully the pass around will serve its purpose in both giving potential customers a chance at trying a new product and giving much needed feedback to a new artisan manufacturer/vendor on what the wet shaving market will bare now and in the foreseeable future and adjust accordingly on demands, needs and pricing.
