I dropped the passaround package off at the post office today, and it's on the way to Oregon. Thanks again to andrewjs18 and CarbonShavingCo. for making this possible!

Looking forward to trying the Carbon razor. Thanks for the mailing update, Stickshift. USPS tracking says it should arrive tomorrow. I also received confirmation from Tara they have my order for another WR2 head and it is in the works. Just what I need.....more razors. Someone, please help me!

take 10-14 days with it, if you want. there's enough plate options with it to justify keeping it a little longer.

Finished using the razor set today. These are beautiful razors and the ++ plate hits my sweet spot. My preference is for the Cx-316L, which surprised me. I generally prefer the lighter titanium razors, so I thought I would love the Cx-Graphite. There is just too much "feel" and noise with the Graphite for me.

Love the head design. Very nice for maneuvering my shave above and below my mouth.

I'm sold on the Cx-316L and plan to place my order.

Thank you for the opportunity to test drive the Carbon Shaving Co razor set.

Living on the edge
Im not on this pass around but couldn't think of a better place to post my review.
I recently purchased a Carbon CX with the mild "–" plate in 316 SS.
So let's get into it:

First off, I'm a sucker for design and this razor is very attractive. I got a very Bauhaus vibe
out of it—marrying artistic vision, principles of mass production and a strong emphasis on
function. The webbed baseplate design is both attractive and utilitarian. And I had no problems
holding the handle. Stunning piece of work.

Quite compact, with very tight tolerances and I noticed that the threaded pin extending below
the top cap is the shortest I've come across...I am sure there is a reason for this though
I am not aware of it.

My brief for this purchase was simple: COMFORT. I wanted something that would shave
me well but without tiring my skin...this mild baseplate is very smooth. It also doesn't
offer a lot of feedback....I tried it on a one day accumulation of stubble....perhaps it's
more audible on 2-3 day's growth. You do feel a blade but in the most innocuous
way possible.

I enjoyed this shave, especially going north to south on my neck (ATG)...normally I'll
get some resistance to the blade but this was velvety smooth. I did buff a wee bit but
without any redness or irritation.

I would say this plate met my brief well...I am sure I can use this for daily shaves without
any negative impact on my skin. For more efficiency I've got it covered with Taiga, Sailor
etc. While I have not tried an Overlander, I feel this might be more or less in the same
ballpark...although it looks way better.

Steel vs Ti: Now I am a 100% Ti man but in this case I feel SS might actually be better.
The weight of SS is 88 gms and that is a very good weight indeed. The relatively higher
weight of SS balances the mild gap and blade exposure.

If I feel particularly adventurous I wouldn't mind giving the ++ plate a whirl next.

All in all, this is a very high quality product...well worth the $$$

Now that I have owned the 316 (with OG plate) for a while, I can confidently say that this is the most blade sensitive razor I own. Most of my razors will work well with any blade that generally performs well in my razors. This is NOT the case for the CX316...Personna Reds work great in my WR2, but were awful in the 316. Conversely, GSB has been the best blade in it, closely followed by Lord Platinums and then Gillette Plats...not sure that this is random, but If GSB performs great, I'd expect Personna to do the same...yet it didn't.

All this to say... experiment with lots of different blades because the blades I have found to be winners so far have far outperformed my usual go-to blades of Permasharp and Gillette Yellow. And I mean so much so that it is the difference between the 316 being the best razor in my den vs the worst and ready to be sold. Really nuts. I still have loads more blades on deck for trial and I am filling out a matrix right now. Once I am done, I will post it here.

Exchanged my –plate for a ++ and really loved my first shave with it.
While Carbon refers to this as its "very efficient" option, for me it's a pleasant
mild shaver with a little presence. Very harmless to throw around...nice audio feedback.
I tried it on a day's growth and got a really nice relaxed effortless shave with zero
nicks. Also, the smoothness was top notch.
The kind of razor I would pick for daily shaves when you are a bit pressed for time
before heading out to work.

Someone said it's on par with the chiseled face Ti for efficiency....that's cool
but the Carbon Web takes the top prize for design.

Keeper!

On a separate but related note, I would be remiss not to mention the absolutely stellar customer
care that Sean provided for this transaction. Just sets the bar at a whole new level. A great
razor and a very responsive seller...don't see a lot of that these days.
