Introducing Cades Cove.  This is a scent that @cmhobbies brought to me, and immediately we knew it had to happen.  Chris says this about Cades Cove:

“In East TN there lies a once remote region that long ago served as a pathway through the Great Smoky Mts. Over time the population swelled into numbers as high as 700 w/in approximately 30 years of settlement. This mostly self sustained rustic populace traveled and traded with the nearby city of Maryville, now a suburb of Knoxville.

Fast forward to the present, history has turned the tide and the Cove is now the most visited area of the National Park.  This peaceful stretch of valley grassland is ensconced by the densely forested Smokies, tranquil streams, and is a haven for numerous deer and black bear, and the endangered Red Wolf can also be found in the region. Many longstanding historic homesteads, churches, and mills are open to the general public to stop and explore at no cost. It is a place near and dear to the hearts of not just Tennesseans, but the South-Eastern U.S. in general.

This scent is an homage not just to this area in high spring/early summer, but to East TN in general.  The idea reached its infancy in the last quarter of 2019 and ideas for the scent were all over the place. The ecology of the area releases a variety of different events in the air depending on the time of year, so picking just one representation was a bit of challenge. It was decided that it would best be represented by something bright and green rather than the dark, smokey pine aroma that emanates in colder weather.

We were able to craft a blend from the spring/summer ecology of the area. The end result is one of the best scents Talbot has created to date: A delicious bouquet of sun-kissed sage grass wrapped in a honeysuckle that dried down into subtle summer sweet blackberries. Over time, very subtle notes of pine and green notes reveal themselves. Those familiar with this beloved area of the south will surely be transported back to memories of rolling grasslands, sunny blue skies, and rustic old homesteads.”

Release info will be available as @maolgrooming and I wrap up production.

Cades Cove soap and matching Maol Grooming aftershave will be available on Monday, July 5 from West Coast Shaving Top Of The Chain The Razor Company and Pasteur Pharmacy

In addition, I’m pleased to share that some of the recent releases are still available from those same retailers.  If you need a backup or thought you missed out, it’s worth a quick search.

Without looking too far ahead of Cades Cove, there are some cool projects coming for summer and fall.  I can’t wait to share them with you all!

As always, thanks so much for the support, and I hope you enjoy Cades Cove!

My old stomping grounds and my wife's FAVORITE place in the Smokey's. I've pedal biked the Loop several times at midnight when there was a full moon. Can't tell you how many times we've driven thru it. Looks like a MUST buy for me. Please don't sell out before I score a set Chad  Happy2

Dave, that’s really cool to hear!  I hope you both love the scent.  And I don’t think you’ll have to worry about a quick sell out.  I’ve been able to make enough of each to last quite awhile.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you Dave!  I hope you enjoy it.  I would have to say I believe it’s my third favorite scent I've done, behind authors ridge and okuma.  Your support is beyond appreciated.

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 977

One of my wife's FAVORITE places is Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountains. We've been thru it more times than I can count in a car, on a motorcycle and even hay rides. I have pedal biked it at midnight with friends when there was a full moon and had Black Bear and coyote run across the path as we were riding. Just a beautiful area and the most visited place in the Smokey's. So when I saw this set getting rleased I knew I had to get it even though I have been halting soap purchases of late and pairing down the inventory. The scent is described well as:

"So, this Cade’s Cove aroma embraces the ambience of the Great Smoky Mountains. This valley in Tennessee is represented by green grassy notes and honeysuckle on a woody, musky base."

This is a BEAUTIFUL scent and always a top level performing soap and splash. Just a great shave. The Bread Lame slice was reopened during the shave but settled down quicker than yesterday and will heal fine........eventually. Have an adventurous day Folks !

Shave #1000 without missing a shave. As I stated before I believe I am MUCH further than that, but this is what I could state that was documented. As a daily shaver it will go up for sure and is just a marker. Next marker would be the 3 year mark of @1095 I guess (not sure if there is a leap year involved. GREAT shave with the products and tools selected. Have a Stellar day Folks !!!
