Hi all,

We've made some changes to the buy, sell, trade (bst) section of the forums that I'll highlight below.

1) Everyone can now close their bst threads on their own if they wish, without trying to hide a filtered word. To close a thread, follow these directions:

- after writing your post, click on the 'Extra Post Options' button below where you type your message:

- click the check box next to 'Close Thread':

Once done, click on 'Post Thread' as you normally would. If you need to go back in to edit the original post or change the thread prefix, the permissions will allow you to do so. If you want to unlock your thread for whatever reason in the future, go back in and uncheck the close thread box and save the post again.

**note, if an admin and/or mod closes your thread, you will NOT be able to go back in to edit it**

2) We implemented a new bump system. The only person who can bump their thread now is the original poster, AFTER the bump interval of 72 hours (3 days) is met. The 72 hours goes off of the last time the thread was bumped. For example, if your thread hasn't been bumped before, after 72 hours of your original post, replying to your thread will bump it. The next bump will be 72 hours AFTER your previous bump. All other replies to a thread are disincentivized and WILL NOT cause a thread to ever bump.

3) Wolfman threads and certain other words are still filtered in the bst section and will automatically lock the thread.

If anyone is found to be trying to subvert the system, we'll send you a warning first and then a temporarily ban for subsequent infractions.

Thanks,

DFS Team

Question here.
Must we keep an eye on posting initial time  , or is the system set up to only bump if the required time is up?
Is it idiot proof or foolproof? Meaning me on accident ?

If I'm reading this correctly we can post whenever we want. But, if it's within the 3-day time frame it won't bump it up. It will if it's outside of the 3-day time frame (say 4 days). Also, it's not going to automatically bump after 3 days. You still need to post 'bump', just at the right time.

This will be great for those threads that we end up in a conversation. No one is trying to push it to the top, and this way you wont feel bad with having a discussion, etc..

Thanks Andrew, awesome idea!

you can reply as often as you'd like, but the system will only bump the thread once the bump threshold is met...and even then, the only post that would bump the thread is a post made by the original poster.

correct!

some of these improvements were a long time coming, like allowing people to close their own bst threads: https://damnfineshave.com/thread-allow-t...de-threads
