Phil posted on TSN that he is issuing a full refund on the 100 razors purchased, as something happened in machining from the final prototype and the finished product

Wow.  That is an unexpected development.

I guess that reddit post was prescient.

Wow, I was just relieved people don’t think I was an oddball. (See post #54 above for the link).  But now you have described me as “prescient.”  You just made my day.  I didn’t even see that coming....

The guy who sold one of these razors for $255 will have to refund the buyer in full because Phil is refunding the seller. So the story that the seller's wife got made because he bought an expensive razor was totally bogus to put it mildly.

That guy in question posted this morning posted that he is refunding the guy as the razor hadn't even shipped yet and he said he would wait for Phil to refund him...

As to you accusing him of being shady about why he had to list it I am troubled by and wonder what reason you would have to call him a liar? We are in some troubled times here as of late and I see posts in BST's and on FB all the time that guys are selling gear to pay some sort of bill or something but to boldly assume he's lying about it, there's something wrong with that in my book!! Unless of course you actually know the guy and his wife personally and have some inside info your holding back on!! As to what he even listed it for over there had nothing to do with price gouging or anything like that... I'm sure with sales tax and or shipping the guy was probably out more than $255, the razor listed for $249.95!! Why make a big deal about what he was selling it for?

Its funny the guy gets the razor (probably tried it out) had no idea it was a machining problem and promptly sells it the next day. Technically the razor was used but he probably thought one time doesn't consitutue used. As far as going through hard times if things were that bad you don't go and spend $250 for a razor. No doubt like most of us we have more then one.

I myself was recently politely reminded, and very correctly, of the importance of not assuming “facts not in evidence.”  We do not know what that seller’s experience actually was.  It may be both that his spouse was unhappy, and so he chose to sell the razor, and he didn’t yet know the razor was defective.

In this day and age, there are so many persons making premature, and possibly unfair, judgments it’s very very tempting to join in the fun.  But I myself was recently just “too clever by half” in a misguided effort to lighten the mood so-to-speak. That was inconsiderate and poor judgment on my part.  Before long, another well-meaning DFS member reasonable pointed this out and I learned (or, more precisely, re-learned) an important lesson.

Now here’s the follow-up related lesson I also was reminded of too:  It’s not the mistakes we make, but how we respond to them, (especially when politely informed by the well-meaning third-party observer) that really counts.  So, when I foul up, I try to see how I fouled up, and then to acknowledge it.  Speaking only for myself, I’ve found this makes for a less upsetting life.

I DO NOT APPRECIATE YOU COMING ON HERE AND MAKING UP YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS ABOUT ME SELLING MY ASYLUM 17-4 .. YOU ARE WRONG!!

I HAD ALREADY MADE UP MY MIND BEFORE IT SHOWED UP IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY THAT AS SOON AS IT ARRIVED I WAS LISTING ON THE SELLING FORUM ON TSN BECAUSE YES MY WIFE WAS UPSET I PAID $250 FOR A RAZOR.

YESTERDAY WHEN MAILMAN DROPPED IT OFF I IMMEDIATELYELY TOOK A FEW PICTURES AND LISTED IT FOR SALE ... YES, BEFORE EVER KNOWING ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE RAZOR. I NEVER PUT A BLADE IN THE NEW RAZOR NOR WAS GOING TO TRY IT OUT WHEN I KNEW I WAS SELLING TO RECOUP MY MONEY.

AS SOON AS PHIL ANNOUNCED THE RAZOR HAD A MACHINING FLAW I CONTACTED BUYER AND REFUNDED HIS MONEY.

I DON'T APPRECIATE YOU CALLING MY STORY BOGUS, I HAD TO COME HERE TO CALL YOU OUT ON IT. YOU NEED TO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
