Post your affordable options here for the low income or begginers to get affordable ideas from.

Something for the budget honers .
This is acrylic plexiglass
The measurements are , 6X2x.75 inches
These are very flat and do not need lapping before use.

I have been using them for lapping film ,both as a backing for the PSA type and the water squeegee type of film.
These are available from a few ebay dealers in very good price points.

One Such Dealer Is This gent.》》》

I do not know him or have any relationship with him,do with this information as you wish . salud.

(Side note) I use these now to support a few of my synthetic and natural stones in a larger size from him.

As a side note, these are cell cast ,I do not know how a different process might work out in terms of flatness.

Thos are really cool. I've never used lapping film before, but with the clarity of those 2 pieces, I'll be inquiring about razor scale blanks, if he has thinner pieces available...

As for "budget" honing solutions...

I've had very decent success with the Imperia la Roccia 15K finisher. For the price, it is very difficult to beat.

For just quickly refreshing, I get quite a bit of mileage using chromium and iron oxide pastes on either balsa or canvas strops.
