Hey no problem Standard! It was my first foray into "making" a brush so you can take that for what it's worth, lol.

Looks great and with the Tuxedo knot I'm sure it works great. For WIW most of the time I figure out the spacer required with a wine cork cut to fit. Then I use silicone to secure the wine cork and flue the brush knot on top with 5 min. epoxy, marine or otherwise. I get exactly what I want this way and the spacer is nice to obtain after drinking the wine! Works for me!

wyze0ne - That Brush looks awesome. I love the color and the ring really makes it all pop.

When wyze0ne inquired about the ring I used on my Whipped Dog 24mm Maggard handle he mentioned he had a Tuxedo knot on the way and a Whipped Dog handle waiting for it. I had held onto an old cheap badge brush(a long time) because it had the ring and I figured one day.... Just as I was getting set to epoxy some knots, this old brush caught my eye. I hacked the ring off of the old brush carefully. Initially I thought of putting it on an Ever Ready handle with a 22mm Maggard knot. It looked good, but it just didn't look right. Then I tested it out on the Whipped Dog 22mm Maggard knot and it definitely looked right. It made such a difference I epoxied it right in.
I've started to use 5 Minute Epoxy and have had no problems. At first I used Marine epoxy, but mostly on Badger knots that fell out of their handle where I would soak them before the shave. With Synthetic knots the quick stuff will hold no problem. When I purchased my 24mm Synthetic Mozingo Brush (MozingoBrushes on Etsy) he told me he used silicone adhesive to secure the knot in case I wanted to play with the loft, or change the knot. It's been about a year and I've had no trouble with the knot falling out, or becoming loose.

I finally finished my Ever Ready 200 Tuxedo restore and used it for today's shave. The Tuxedo knot is amazing. After snapping my SOTD I grabbed the Maggards handle and snapped a quick pic. Not the greatest angle but,... the 24mm Tuxedo knot, and the 22mm Maggard knot with ring.

That Ever-Ready with the Tuxedo looks great, DblDe! (As does the other combo to its right.)

Since the Tuxedo seems to be a central element in this thread, I’ll post a pic I already posted on the merchant’s thread. I hope that’s OK, wyze0ne. This is what I call my “Tuxedo Dog,” the 24 mm Tuxedo in a Whipped Dog handle. Sound familiar? Smile

Thanks DblDe! The one with the blue handle and Maggard knot was the inspiration for adding the ring to mine.

The Tuxedo with the black handle looks classy Matsilainen. I really like it!

Thanks, Jeff! I also like the contrast yours has, between the slightly lighter handle and the dark knot. Plus, I’m a fan of butterscotch/orange handles.
