Like kwsher, I often find that the first shave with a blade, while not bad, is not always the best.

Kevin, the tide has turned and those of us who let it ride seem to be in the significant majority - I leave it in until its done, minimizes handling and I've not seen any staining or anything like that. We have a pretty dry climate and I have a water softener so things don't stay damp for long around here. I have a tube of lip balm in the pocket of every coat I own, its that dry.

I used to remove the blade, then I tried just rinsing it, leaving it in the razor. Nothing happened. Same good shaves as before.

I only remove the blade when changing it. No need to take it out every shave.

After my shave, I slightly loosen the head, rinse with hot water and leave until the next day.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

Depends...

The mongoose has such a long post, I just loosen it off, rinse and store. Everything else, I remove and store the razor blade up high. This is more for safety as I would be very upset if my 3 year old got a hold of the razor and tried to copy dad.....

It never occurred to me to remove the blade until I change it, and the razor, after about 4 shaves. Rinse, dry and leave.

For those promiscuous razor users I completely understand the "need" to clean the blade after each use. My blades remain monogamous so I simply shake the excess water out of the razor & then towel dry the whole thing. Even in my hard water everything stays in great shape.

Let 'em ride till they die!

I leave the blade in my three piece razors until I decide they are toast. I then scrub the razor clean, dry and toss the blade.
I remove the blade after every shave with my TTO razors. I rinse and dry the razor then replace the blade. I do this mostly because of the condition of the "chamber" of every TTO I've looked at. Seems that's where all the nastiness likes to live.

This is my exact answer.

I remove the blade after every shave. Put it back in into whatever razor I use next..and normally use it for 2-3 shaves.
The only exception to that rule is injector razors where I leave the blade in and simply replace it when it starts to feel dull.

+1, very funny!
I do the same, being careful when I dry the handle and head. I still have all 10 fingers, both ears, my nose and my chin after almost three months of DE shaving!
