Thanks for the thread! The Dart is a machined stainless DE made here in the USA. It will retail at $99 including domestic shipping. They are in production now and should be available by June.

Looks neat, Blackland Razors.

What are some of the key differences between the Dart and Blackbird?

How would you describe the aggressiveness?

Thanks

The Dart was designed from scratch. It and the Blackbird share no geometry aside from the general characteristics inherent to DE razors.

It is mid-aggressive with a touch of blade feel. Incredibly comfortable with enough efficiency for dense, coarse beards.

Sounds great. I read elsewhere that the handle is 92mm. Do you have an idea what the overall weight (handle and head) will be?

Will there be an open comb option and more aggressive base plates offered?

Excited to get my hands on one!

Shane,

This is welcome news.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get along with the BB.

I hope it is as smooth as the Timeless .68 SB.

Will the DART work with any handle, unlike the BB?

I'm very much looking forward to purchasing the DART and continue supporting your business.

Will there be an announcement prior to the sale going live, as I don't want to miss out on this?

We'll publish all the specs in the next few weeks. Still waiting on final production-ready handle samples.

Not at this time though it's possible in the future. For an aggressive razor, one should probably lean toward the Blackbird. The Dart is by no means a mild razor, but it is a notch or two below the Blackbird in terms of blade feel.

The Dart will work with any handle, but will not be available in a head-only configuration at this time. I'll certainly continue posting updates here and on social media. Big updates, including the official launch date, will also be sent via email newsletter. The announcement will be made a few days prior to the release date so you won't be surprised when they go live.

Thank you!

No worries on handle, as I'll be purchasing it complete with stand if available.

My only concern regarding the handle is that anything north of 3.5" will not work for, hence the question.

Looking forward to placing the order, soon!

Keep up the great work...

The handle is 92mm which is just a bit longer than 3.5". It is important to note that the underside of the base plate is concave meaning that the flat portion of the base plate sits on a higher plane and the safety bars extend below it. This is to say that when assembled the handle functions as though it were a few mm shorter than the same handle placed on a flat base plate. Hopefully that makes sense.
