Will the polished Ti be a part of the next release?

As before, machined will be first and then we’ll be polishing some.

Blackland Razors
I would be tempted to buy a Titanium Blackbird, if I could get one with a 70 mm handle.  If not, I'll stick with my old 303 SS.  Seriously though, I think if you made a limited number of both 70 & 101 mm handles in Titanium, they would sell out.

No, a member posted a thread asking if anyone was looking for a Ti BB and I was in the right place at the right time  Smile

Love my steel Blackbirds and very happy to add this Ti to the herd.

How would you characterise the differences between the SS and Ti Blackbirds....I've read reviews which
say they are like two totally different razors.
I had my second shave with the Ti BB a few minutes ago. The same Gillette Silver Blue, the 3rd use of the blade. Celestino described the differences very well. It does feel softer, and it certainly is lighter. When I removed it from the box I was struck by how light it is. This second shave was a good as the first. I always prep by simply washing my face with bar soap and hot water. Badger brush on a puck of MDC and begin with a WTG followed by an ATG. I don't care how good the blade is, I only use a blade 3 times.

I guess the main impression I get out of this razor is you would have to try hard to get irritation from shaving with it. Super efficient and though I don't mind a heavy razor the feather light Ti Blackbird is a pleasure to use.

I'd add that I'm glad I went with the used razor rather than waiting. I wanted a polished Ti, so I would have waited longer, paid more ... if I had been fast enough to score one, I imagine they'll go fast. The machine finish on this is just fine for me.

Gentlemen,
I’m looking for some ideas from more experienced Blackbird users.
I own a brass Blackbird and recently purchased a Ti version in the secondary market, largely based on this thread.
I’m still playing with the Ti and different blades, I want to like the Ti…
After 3 shaves (blades: lab blue, Astra SP and Feather) I find the Ti to have noticeably more blade feel than the brass.
The Ti blade feel seems more like my Dart than my brass BB.
While I can, and have used the brass for days.
I don’t have a course enough “old guy beard” to use either the Dart or the Ti BB as a daily driver.

Is it me, technique or the different metals?
I assume that the CNC program is the same for all of Shane’s Blackbirds…how can the metal be so much different for me?
Or is it just stupidity?

Patriot i have had the opposite result. My Ti BB is significantly smoother than any other BB I have owned. It maybe that due to the lighter weight you may be adding more pressure when you shave or it could be ( like me with the WR2) we are different than the majority.

I have had 4 different Blackbirds including the new titanium and the titanium is the smoothest by a mile while retaining the high efficiency. In fact, the second Shane releases an OC titanium plate, I will sell my other remaining OC SS Blackbird.

I'll third the assessment that the Ti is the smoothest BB I have tried. I still believe it must be the titanum that results in this, as others have said.

The Ti is my smoothest Blackbird by a lot. The others are too much for me to use on the daily. But I can use the Ti everyday.

For blades, I like either Voskhod or Wizamet Super Iridium.

I've been waiting for the Titanium to come back in stock for weeks now. I had heard April would be restock, but hopefully soon I'll be able to grab one.

Update…
My 4th shave with the Blackbird Ti and a Voshkod was much better.
Significantly less irritation.
I did pay way more attention to NOT using any pressure.
Huh! Go Figure…

Then today’s shave was with my brass Blackbird and another new Voshkod.
Zipped right through the shave. 2 pass BBS…perfect shave.
Seems that I like heavier razors?

PS…I hated both the Aluminum and Ti Henson as well as the Aluminum Lupo. (love the SS Lupo)
