If anyone is in a position to run the 0.94 WR1 against the BB Ti, I would be interested to hear their thoughts.

I have a 94. DC SB/OV so I could run that comparison before this BB Ti has to go back to its owner. I’d be interested in how they compare as I hadn’t thought of that since most seem to be comparing to the higher gap WR2’s

I've only used WR1 up to 0.86, but to me the 0.86 had more blade feel than the BB. I prefer the BB to most of the higher gap WR1's, then again I haven't tried them in Ti so not exactly a direct comparison.

I got BB Ti and WR2 Ti 1.45 lately. I hasn't made side by side comparison yet.
I think efficiency is same for both. Both easily clean under jaw line. Long lasting BBS..
BB Ti has less blade feel, and I can easily add pressure to BB Ti. BB is smoother.
I tried BB with both narrow and steep angle, they worked great. I can only use steep angle for Wolfy.
I will keep both. I really like WR2 Ti, it became my #1 but I found BB Ti more comfortable.
I think my new #1 is BB Ti.

Thank you!

I agree the BB Ti was smoother than the Wolfe and after 8 hrs the areas where I used the BB Ti the hairs have not shown up yet but I’m getting just a tiny  bit of regrowth showing up in some spots where I used the WR2 so I’m thinking you are probably spot on comparing the 1.45 to the BB and out of curiosity I think I’ll have to pull mine out and repeat this Shave Off.
Many thanks for the excellent review. I'm also a fan of the BB Ti though I haven't had the good fortune to score a WR in Ti ... yet ...

Help an old guy out ... What is "reverse WTG" ? I cannot visualize it, and I don't recall running into that term in the past.

Also, please don't update your former shave comparison post with the results of which leaves a longer BBS result, 'cause I'll probably miss it. Do a stand alone post with those results.

Hi Jimmy
Thank you!

Ok will do the update in a separate post.

If you’d like to I can email you and explain. Also I have a diagram in a PDF file that a member did for me back when I was doing a lot of Shave Offs that goes over the whole SSSST  ( which stands for Skin Stretch Short Stroke Technique  ) I use which includes the RSS pass.  I have a lot of shaving friends that now use it as well.

Ill pm you and we will go from there as I don’t want to take this thread OT and bore everyone as this is about the BB Ti and not me. Lol

Ok it’s been 12 + hrs and feeling my face again confirmed that the BBTi took this one also on efficiency & effectiveness as it simply put gave me a longer lasting BBS shave. Feeling the 4 areas that I dived my face up into to make things far for both razors giving them each one section on my more difficult right side and easier to shave left side. It’s very noticeable at this point that the BB Ti took my beard hairs further down under my skins surface than the WR2 1.35 SB did.

So on to the WR2 1.45 SB side of my DC or maybe I should try the .94 DC WR1 and see how that matches up. I know one thing my SS ..94 DC is a lot heavier but not that big a deal to adjust.

Thanks Frank, I'd love to see the PDF on the SSST. I'm an old straight razor shaver so skin stretching is part of my routine.

I also have the SS WR1 .94 DC. Using it with the WR1 90mm hollow I recently purchased from a friend on DFS it is a wonderful shave, but not quite as wonderful as the BB Ti.

TBH I also prefer the SS BB to the WR1 .94, so maybe it's just the particular geometry/design of the BB suits my particular face/neck more.

I'd like to see Shane issue a long Ti handle. I think that would perhaps make it even better, but OTOH might throw off the balance. I'd like to give it a try anyhow.

With all the talk, I had to run my titanium Blackbird this morning. Awesome shave and I concur that the efficiency matches my 1.45 and bests my 1.35. This thing has never ceased to amaze me! Link to my IG review and post below. I have been using my stainless 101mm handle with it since I got it. Hate the little titanium handle that it shipped with.

I’d like to also see a little longer handle but not to long.  90 mm works for me but I’ll try another handle on it and see how that works out.

BTW a good review on IG george1906.

I've been doing the same with my 101 Black Oxide handle. Smile

2nd shave this morning with the Ti Blackbird. When I ordered it I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy it as I tend to favor more neutral razors for daily shaving. I don’t mind the feel of blade forward razors, but “aggressive” razors tend to leave me irritated on my lower neck which is extremely sensitive.  So far this has not been the case with the Ti BB even when using it on only 24 hours of growth. I find that I quite enjoy the different experience offered from the BB than what I’m used to. I’ve gotten 2 close and comfortable shaves so far.

I think I need to tweak my technique a bit while using it, I don’t yet feel comfortable going directly against the grain which is where I achieve a super close shave with milder razors.  The next time I use it my plan is to see how good of a shave I get with a 2-pass instead of my normal 3, doing a WTG then XTG/ATG hybrid.

I think this is the most efficient razor on the first pass that I’ve used to date.  Quite impressive.
