So I am going to plant my pole of an opinion in the middle of the deserted island in which I live. I am not a brush geek and not a self proclaimed expert here, as I am in other areas. So what I am about to say will hurt feelings and offend the majority of the brush geeks.

There is no difference between banded boar brushes other than the marketing used to promote them.

Having been to many hog farms, and butchered a few, and lathered up a brush or two, I state this opinion. The bands in the boar brushes are died into them. Bands in hog hair is not a natural phenomenon. Other than the hair diameter and how the hair is trimmed, dieing bands into them is the only other way to fancy them up. The one band brush and 3 band brush both got their hair from the same hog. But if I told you the 3 band was a softer, scritchier, velvet tipped applicator, you might just believe that marketing strategy. A boar is a boar, some just have fancy racing stripes.

This is my belief and unless someone from the factory shows me the part of the hog that the 2 band hair grows and why its stiffer than where the 3 band hair grows, I will continue with my line of thinking.

It seems you are mistaking hog/boar for badger as this is what is being discussed in this thread. Shy

Yea. Seems if I read the title and the actual question, I might have and intelligent response. Here I thought I was using my critical reading skills. Consider this a commercial break. I return you to your regularly scheduled program. Smile
