I have purchased many Bath soaps from the makers of the shave soaps I enjoy, often in the same scent, other times in scents for which I have no matching shave soap. Over the last couple years give or take I have yet to find a bath soap that has the same scent strength as the shave soap. You can smell the scent, but to me, it seems weak comparitivley. I suppose the price differential means less essential oils in bar soap vs shave soap?

I’m hoping a soap maker can chime in here... and let me know. I presume there is a formulation difference between body soap and shave soap. The bar soap I have procured over the last couple years from shave soap makers is wonderful, this is more a curiosity in the scent strength department more than a complaint of any kind.

Thanks!

I know. Wouldn't it be great if some of our favorite artisan bath soaps had the scent strength of say, Irish Spring?

I agree, and Irish spring is cheap as hell too. I ventured into the artisan bath soaps but eventually stopped using them because it was hard to find strong scents. Part of me feeling clean after a shower is two things: a really thick lather and strong scented soap, even if its body wash, I dont care. I just could not seem to find artisan bath soap that was scented as strongly as the much cheaper stuff I can buy off the shelf at the supermarket. I'd rather even use a body wash like Dial, Nivea or Old Spice purely because they have very strong manly type scents.
