They have literally eaten my ass all summer.  Has never been this bad in KY before.  My PdP lasts about 1 month to 6 weeks per chiggers & the ivy.

I've always had bad reactions to poison ivy.  Even had it in my mouth and eye once...that episode required a trip to the doc's office.  But about ten years ago, after another nasty case, I got on-line and researched the stupid weed and how it causes the reactions.  After a little research, I found a "cure" that has work very well (at least for me).  If you know that you have been in or touched poison ivy, one of the worst things you can do is wash yourself with soap and water.  That is the primary way it spreads on your body.  So what I do now is I will bathe myself in rubbing alcohol prior to taking a shower.  The rubbing alcohol helps dry up the plant oil (urushiol oil) before it can be absorbed into the skin.  Since I've been doing this, I haven't had anything other than a very minor rash.  (NOTE:  be prepared to be unable to breathe when dousing yourself in rubbing alcohol.  It's not an easy thing to do but i'd rather do that for a few minutes than suffer through itching for 2 weeks)

Also, if you already have the rash, I have found that by scratching the rash and pouring rubbing alcohol on the open wound, it will clear up within a day or two.  The benefit here is you get itch that rash to your hearts delight.  The downside is pouring rubbing alcohol into an open wound Smile
Right on. I have a similar approach to chiggers now. Scratch the eff'n hell out of them, get my copperlock case knife out, heat it up with a lighter, cut the bite open, and pour 4711 on them. Gone in two days. Love the burn.

Here's a pic for you "bath soap" guys. If you want in the drawing just say "I'm In" and I'll use a randomizer to pick the winner by the weekend. I got 2 of these in a gift set and used 1. Saved the other to give away. 1 Williams Bath Bar from the 50's.....the bar I used was extremely clean and looked new not like the shave soap cakes look at times.

The last of my Stirling soap stash.  There will be more one of these days but I need to get through some of the C&C, Duke Cannon and PdP stashes before buying more Stirling

I put out a new bar of soap every 3-4 weeks in my master bathroom. Usually it's a Stirling product. Very hard to beat in that price range... not that I've tried too many of our shaving vendors hand soaps (yet).

I recently put in an order for some Autumnal soaps from Rod and last week I put out the first of them: Hot Apple Cider. Not my favorite, but definitely a scent for September. I look forward to the Sweet Pecan... It smells quite good. [Image: c7450880db45791cd0b020938cd27568.jpg]
