Praise the Lord!

Back to PdP, Verbena this round. Vastly superiour to the Stirling as a soap. Much richer, softer, luxuriant and cleaner rinsing lather...and the scent: rich, full and natural vs synthetic.

My rankings of PdP soaps tried:

Coconut
Lime
Varbena
Green Tea
LemonGrass
Agrumes
Cashmere Woods
Rose
Lavender
Sage
StarFlower
Raspberry
Linden
Ocean Air

Been a while since used Linden so may move up list if another sample obtained

Ocean Air lovely but way too light in projection for my tastes having lived on various beaches over the years

Truth told, little separates the top 11 soaps and ALL PdP soaps are magnificent in lather quality

DanLaw, have you tried a bar of Mitchell's Wool Fat? It's been a couple years since I had a bar but do remember the lather being very good, at least for me. The scent was on the light side but that seems to be true with the shave soap as well. I was just curious how you would compare Mitchell's to PdP, if you've tried it.

Mitchell's WoolFat immediately and severely irritates my skin. Unsure what the etiology as able to tolerate other sheep based soaps.

Had they shipped a second bar, would send it your way but had only one in the package. Based on your scent comments posted, suspect you will favour it.

Given DanLaw's praise of PdP, I opened a bar two weeks and, yes, it has been very nice to use day in and day out. In fact, it displaced the Dolce Vivere that I had praised a few months ago because, after a while, found myself using that less and less. For some reason, the scent stopped pleasing me and I felt the post-shower feel was a bit drying. BUT a week ago, my wife was given a bar of Beekman soap and it's now become my favorite. For me, it's a slight step above the PdP that has been sitting next to it in the shower -- just a touch richer and creamier. Not much scent at all but that's fine with me.

Odd how life matters come full circle, imitating good literature and music (or perhaps reflecting the genius of artists harmoniously exposing the reality of human existence in their works).

Believe Beekman was the second soap reviewed in this thread dating back to 10 July 2017
