I'm happy for all the people that have received their B&M Le Grand Chypre already. Up here in Canada things move at a more leisurely pace. I placed my order almost at the moment they were released last friday and I'll be happy to see it before the end of next week giving me pretty much a two week transit time. I wonder what they do with the packages that takes so long. I suspect that they could easily deliver everything pretty quickly if they wanted but if they were to do that nobody would pay extra for expedited shipping. They put the ordinary mail aside to let it age - we will deliver no package before its time! This also happens for packages within Canada so I suspect its a Canadian postal thing. To put things in perspective, I recently ordered some espresso coffee from Mauro online. I placed the order at about 11:00am MST on a Sunday. I had the package delivered by mid-day Wednesday. I assumed that Mauro must have a warehouse if not in Canada, at least in North America. No they don't. I looked at the tracking information (DHL) and the order was received at the Mauro facility in Bologna, Italy at 7:00pm local time, the order left that facility before midnight local time the same day, and arrived in Leipzig, Germany by 3:00am, then to Heathrow in London by noon the next day, it was in Canada by Tuesday and delivered to me wednesday. I've had packages sent from within the same city take longer than that, l a lot longer. I guess Mauro figures If they want to serve the world from Bologna, they better be able to deliver.
This isn't a critique of the artisans or vendors but rather Canada Post
The upside of the timing thing is that by the time the thing arrives I've forgotten about it completely so its a pleasant surprise.
