There's no question most seasoned wet shavers will at least appreciate Barrister's Reserve's performance and some may even be surprised by the step up.  However, this is also an ideal soap for beginners in that it's quite forgiving and extremely easy to lather in even less than optimal water conditions.
Wonderful photo as always, and great to read your impressions of this soap.
(Also: Yet another soap to add to the acquisition list…)

Will, will you be offering samples of the Lavender and Fern in advance of their release as you did with the reserve soaps?

Is there a chance you might add aftershave balms to the reserve line?

I just have to say that the packing is top notch on this shipment.
The goods were well protected and I even scored some B&M stickers that peeled off the contents easily.
The presentation of the new LGC is crazy awesome. Totally first class. And the design on the new Reserve line is super classy

My sentiments exactly Matsilainen- and thanks 120 for the insightful review. Can't wait to try the Reserve line.
All the best,

First shave with Reserve Classic tonight was perfect. The proto lather was stringy but with added water became slick and creamy. With the Reserve aftershave this makes a winning combo. Another excellent B&M offering.

Will,

Had my first shave with Reserve Cool this afternoon. It was the proverbial Grand Slam Home Run! It has dethroned Leviathan as my #1 favorite BM soap. Well done, sir. Well done.

That's the intention, yes. It's likely that we will not have samples of the splashes beforehand due to the expense and time required to make them, but I'm already working to get the ball rolling, so we should have them not long after the release. Smile

Really glad you're all enjoying Reserve, folks!

I had to pop in here to say something about the new Reserve soap. Don't load them as long as you do other soaps. My goodness is this soap potent. My first use I loaded like I would practically any other soap and got the stringiness mentioned above. I couldn't get enough water into it to tone it back down. Today, I loaded enough for what felt like a half pass shave and had the perfect consistency lather I look for and had enough for 3+ passes. Skin feel is amazing afterwards, especially when paired with a Reserve splash, and really, who wouldn't?

Great stuff Will!

My set is in the mail and should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. Thanks for the heads-up, Brian. I tend to bloom my soaps but maybe I'll start by just going at the puck with a wet brush.

I would highly doubt that blooming would be necessary here Freddy. If I did that, I'd have enough lather to shave my whole family, 2 dogs included, about 5 times.
