Jeff, have you ever tried Chatillon Lux's salves? They really are quite nice, highly nourishing and gentle I think. It may be able to give you the scent without the fire. The sensitivity to the cinnamon may be accentuated by the alcohol. You know, the fragrance combined with the burn of alcohol being amped.

I have tried the salve. A while back, I got one for my wife to use after shaving her legs. It was Le Jardin D'Odile. I think it was one of the scents that was geared towards women and wasn't offered in the toner or aftershave. hawns can correct me if I'm wrong. It's a great floral scent and I've used it a few times. I don't think its overly feminine. I'm just not really a balm guy so I don't use stuff like that very often. I much prefer splashes, but I can see what you're saying about the alcohol perhaps accentuating the burn.

You are correct. The scent was originally made for an ex-girlfriend whose preferred fragrance was DKNY Be Delicious, but I didn't like the green apple note. So I reimagined it with cucumber instead of green apple as well as some other tweaks (mainly dropping the violet leaf).

I used the BBB salve today. compared to yesterday when I used the splash and felt a fair bit of warmth when it was applied to my face, I didn't feel any of that with the salve.

It does not smell like a bay rum at all...but I do like the scent (a lot).

Nice work, hawns.   Happy2

Thanks! I hate bay rum and have no interest in making one, so hopefully that isn't what you were expecting. Regardless, glad you enjoyed it!

see, I think it smells like a sweeter bay rum. for example, Krampert's Bay Rum AS is spicy, imho.

There is definitely Bay in the scent profile. It's unique and quite wonderful IMO.

I agree with this after splashing this AS after my morning shave (I only rubbed a little on my wrist yesterday).

This might be my favorite CL product so far.   Happy

Received mine a few days ago and this stuff is fantastic...great job Shawn ! More importantly, my wife loves it...which is really the only vote that counts Smile

BTW, wyze0ne , I felt a slight burn as well but it wasn't too bad. Really sorry it wasn't working out for you. I''ll be trying the balm this morning since the temps have finally dropped into the 30's here

Thanks! Glad you like it, but I'm obviously even happier that she likes it.
