For me the difference is significant from the original to the Windsor, I would place my copper Windsor on the same level as my Timeless

What plate are you using on Windsor and what blade gap on the Timeless?

Does the copper discolor, I assume?

The Copper Windsor is coated so no patina

The R plate on the Windsor is between the .68 and .95 on my Timeless and the H plate has a little more blade feel than the .98 but is as efficient as the .98 on the Timeless

So if I shave with Fatip and Karve C&D, it sounds like it would be Windsor SSR1 or Timless .68?

atxwatch Yes that would be my comparison I use the Karve E & F plate. Beauty of Timeless and ATT is you can try it and if it’s not right for you there is a 30 day trial

I am surprised there is not more people talking about the Windsor. It’s made by a great company, looks beautiful and shaves terrific! It even has 3 choices of baseplates to help fit different levels of shave. Stan even offers a 30 day test drive

I’m also surprised you don’t hear more about these Razors. I ordered a complete Copper Windsor set with stand when they were originally released, but I returned it because the coating that was applied to stop patina wasn’t applied evenly and looked splotchy. I wish I would have shaved with it before returning it, but I thought there would be a bunch of reviews. From what I hear the “R” Plate isn’t as Aggressive/Efficient as the Standard “R” Plate. Hopefully the kinks in applying the coating have been worked out, I really like the look of Copper. My ATT S2 Slant is one of my best shaving Razors, it might be time to give the Windsor a second chance.

Thanks Herbert. Thorough review. I'm one of those who felt the bite of the ATT R1. Sounds like the Windsor model is far smoother. Good to know. I might give it another try.
