My first ATT was the S2 head with the Atlas handle. Absolutely amazing shave, but I did find it to be a bit too much for me if I shave every day. I connected with Stan and he provided some great advice. Rather than returning the S2, I opted to buy the S1 as well, and have never regretted the decision. The S1 is my daily driver, providing incredibly close, comfortable shaves every time, if I have a couple days growth, I will opt for the S2 and it is amazing how well it handles the task.

I think the quality of the ATT products are spectacular, and highly recommend the S1 and S2.

Looking forward to your feedback on the S2. Really looking forward to hearing your comparison of the S1 and S2, no pressure...HEHE.

That was something I forgot to mention.....handles. I have all three of ATT handles. I used the Atlas handles for the M1, R1 and R2 plates. I found it didnt work as well for me with the S1 setup. I jumped all the way to the Colossus handle and that made all the difference in the world. Planned to give the Kronos handle a try with the S1 plate but have been enjoying the current setup so much I haven't got there yet.

I rarely use anything but my S1 anymore. BEST purchase I ever made. I heard it was a little smoother than the S2 so I am curious to hear what you think of it also.

I agree with all the comments here about ATT and their quality. Top tier razor. I have the R1 and I love it. It's a favorite of mine. I then purchased a S2 and tried to like it. I tried for 2 months of shaves with only the S2. I then put it away for 6 months. So I tried it out last month again and I am still not liking it. It is just not a smooth razor on my face. R1 is the one for me.

So... not to come off as needy or anything but it has been a day Wink What's the verdict?

Get the S1 plate. I have read that the S2 is very picky about blades and isn't as comfortable. I'm curious to hear what herbert thinks since now has both.

I'm back!! hahaahah (lots of work just came home).

I have shaved twice with the S2, using Polsilver SI blades. Initial verdict: Inconclusive (I will explain below)

Just as summary, I literally LOVE the R1 and R2 with all I've got!!!!! They give me the best shaves known to mandkind with basically no irritation and very close BBS are usual. The first day with the R2 i used the same approach I do with the R series, a super shallow angle and no pressure.

For some reason the shave was VERY rought on my face (neck) giving me lots of irritation, although it was a super close shave. I knew I was gonna get irritation since I could feel extreme tugging while shaving XTG and ATG (I have never experienced that Kind of tugging before, well just with the Razorock Stealth slant which I sold). It felt like the razor couldnt cut my hair efficiently?!! Like it was dragging and it wasnt effortless at all.

Second day I tried the opposite. I tried using a very steep angle to see what happened. Now the shave wasnt as tuggy (but still was somewhat tuggy) but now it wasnt shaving my face too close. It was to the point that I decided to switch to my trusty R2 mid shave to complete the shave.

This might be due to multiple different things, including:

1) Adaptation to slants (I only have owned one other slant, the Stealth Slant and that one killed my face everytime until I sold it)

2) Bad Blade Combo with the S2 (Maybe the Polsilver and S2 are not too compatible!?, Nonetheless those are one of my favorites in the R1 and R2. To eliminate this variable, I will try 5 or 6 different blades with the S2 including: Feather, Med Preps, Gillette 7 o CLock black, Red Personna, KAI, Astra SP

3) Maybe my neck hair patttern is just not ideal for a slant (since this also happened with the Razorock Stealth Slant, which everyone adores). My neck haird grows in all directions and the slant might irritate them with the slicing motion (just a guess)

I really want to LOVE this razor and will try eveything to get awesome shaves with it as I do with the R1 and R2 (which are my top 2 razors in my den). Its just very weird that I can get awesome shaves with what's considered a harder and less comfortable razor (R1, R2) and I cant get a good shave with an easier razor (S2).

I will update in a week or 2 after more experimentation. If you guys have any tips, feel free to post them here!
