+1 I agree with Mike dtownvino that 0.9 would be ideal for most daily shavers as it shares the same blade exposure as the Karve Overlander,  blade exposure of +0.07 mm.

Only four have tried the razor so far on DFS.
I have tried the 0.3 elsewhere though.
Augustin has supplied an expensive razor free for passarounds and tried to cover all tastes.
You can’t expect him to supply every baseplate.
Friend, I don't expect anything, mine was just an opinion...then if you always want to see a controversy that's another matter
Let me start by saying that I own an N 7 with 1.1 and 1.5 plates, I also ordered a 0.9 plate,I don't expect anything at all

No controversy here

A belated return with thoughts on the .7, 1.5, and what might be an optimal plate choice for my needs. I had intended to compose something a bit more involved. But given current commitments, it might be some time before that is accomplished. So instead, a brief analysis:

Two shaves with the .7 surprised a bit, as the .7 turned out more effective than originally imagined. However, it was still below my desired efficiency levels. And I also noticed a slight decrease in smoothness. I attribute much of that to shaving angle. For some reason my natural intuition of angle did not match up with what this plate wanted, and I was often correcting for that. Even a bit of feedback was noticed after each shave, although again likely attributed to angle.

Then came the finale of the 1.5 plate. The experience with this plate was an unexpected pleasure. I had assumed decreased smoothness and higher potential for injury, when compared with the 1.1. But in many ways I found it quite the opposite. I believe much of this can be attributed to an ultra light touch and possibly some flexibility on optimal shave angle. But even with a relatively light touch, a highly effective shave was achieved, with no significant injury concerns or issues. Overall, I felt much more at home with the 1.5 than the 1.1.

And that ultimately leads to my thoughts on plate choices. Like many others have considered, the .9 would seem to provide a highly effective daily use plate. And that would be my primary choice, inferred from the experience across all of the supplied plates. However, I would probably also order the 1.5,  just for its unique shave experience and face feel.

Here is a clear example that you must know how to use the tool, not the tool use you Happy2
I agree, for those who like high efficiency 1.5 is excellent

I never participate in 'Pass-Arounds'. If I see a razor that appeals to me, I just purchase it. That is the case with the N 7. I purchased a SS machined finish Head( Only) with both the 1.1 and 1.5 plates, Having used both plates several times, I concur with rocket. Overall the 1.5 plate seems to work best for me. For ME the 1.1 plate does not seem to be be any milder or less intimidating. Keep in mind that I don't just prefer more aggressive razors, I pretty much need them now that my 76 year old beard has become very 'challenging'.

Also, the blade you use has an impact. Presently, I have been using the Gillette 7 OCLOCK Super Platinum (Black) with good results, even though the first shave is usually a little rough. This will be my only input regarding the N 7 razor.

Also, as a side note: If I want a really BBS shave result, I also do (add) a FINAL pass using something milder, like the Paradigm DB Ti razor (With the same blade).

The razor arrived yesterday and I’ll say the presentation is very nice. I had to shave yesterday so I haven’t used it yet but will tomorrow.  First impression as far as feeling in hand for me is it seems a little handle heavy as I’m used to razors with a bit better balance. Of course that’s just my opinion and preference. Others may feel differently. Appearance wise I have to spend more time with it before I can comment. I see it came with a variety of razor blades. I didn’t take the time to look through them to see if any would be something I’d normally use as I mostly use only Feathers, Polsilver Blues and most recently added the Gillette Platinums ( made in Russia ) which I really like to my favorites.

Id like to thank rocketDave for a quick shipment and a good job packing the razor for a safe trip to me.
