Guys, my favorite right now is the S1 and the iKon 102, how do you think the Rockwell 6S namely the popular #3 compares to those two slants?

I can't speak for the iKon, but the S1 has been my primary razor for over a year. I received my replacement 6S last week and have now had a chance to use it a few times, both with plates 3 and 4.  It is a different experience than the S1, but I have to say the shave is every bit as good, which I really was not expecting.

The Rockwell is heavier, and the handle is longer than my ATT Atlas, but the balance is excellent and the weight distribution makes the 6S very intuitive and easy to use.  It seems very forgiving so far, and I've had no weepers or irritation at all from my shaves so far.

I really have been blown away by how well it is performing.  The fit and finish are very good, not as superb as the ATT, but night and day from the first version I received.  My initial plan was to ensure it was usable and the sell it, as I didn't think the Rockwell would perform the way it did.  Now, I definitely plan on keeping it and am thinking it could be a great tool to introduce my son to wet shaving.

Overall, I think it's a great razor for the money, even with the price increase.

This is very helpful. Thank you for your insight

I think $99 is still a steal.

If I had to chose between the 6s and a feather as-d2, I think I'd pick the Rockwell in a heartbeat.

Rockwell vs polished blackbird... That's a hard one, but I think the nod will go to the blackbird.

Looks wise the blackbird is more attractive, but when you think about that the Rockwell can go from asd2 mild to all the way to merkur future lvl 3-4 aggressive, the Rockwell is hard to beat and on top of it I got mine for 80 bucks.

I think my main draw for the blackbird is the longer handle and more efficient shave.

It's not always about blade gap, I think geometrically the head of a blackbird is slightly more efficient once you figure it out.

Don't get me wrong. I think the Rockwell is a fantastic razor well worth a higher price tag than it is currently. A razor I don't see myself getting rid of. But if I had to chose one razor, the Rockwell would be in contention, albeit towards the bottom of the list.

Excellent. Um, er, ah, andrewjs18, you might want to explain what an AMA is for those of us who haven't a clue. Blush

I would agree that a blackbird is a nicer design and maybe better built but as far as shaving goes the Rockwell Shaves as good if not better than the Blackbird. I enjoy them both

I agree with Jerry. Still a solid razor for a good price even with the increase. Here are some cell shots of mine...

Hi kwsher is the version of the razor you have different from the "kickstarter edition"? I see the kickstarter edition for sale at www.menessentials.ca and I'm wondering if its the old buggy version as everyone is saying that the current version is not in stock.
Thanks,
Marko
