The first shave with the Spartacus went well! Used my Dart with a Feather blade; three full passes (though could be done in two). Smells amazing and very close to Creed Aventus, shaving characteristics are top notch and the post-shave feel is almost as good as SS, WK, Declaration and others alike. very little irritation.

That one words says it all.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I have since tried their goat's milk & lanolin L'Orange Verte and IMO it is simply incredible. A deep & rich orange spicy scent that is strong and stays for the entire shave and the performance simply perfect!! Glide, cushion, etc. I have used a few equal but none better. Just as good as Wholly Kaw IMO and it just plain smells better. Not that WK smells bad, just that some of their soaps are "Grandpaish" in a Tabaclike manner. Undecided

I have the Vetiver Magnifique, and I find myself reaching for it quite often. As stated by many others here, the performance is right up there with the top brands, and the scents are as good as anything on the market. I have also tried Grey Matter, Spartacus, and Uno, and all of the scents are well blended, and absolutely great.

If it is the same base as the Uno, Asian Plum, Summer Fig, etc., that's one of the nicest soap bases out there..

You don't have to order from the state's to get A&E. Topofthechain and beardandblade both have this line. This is where I order from.

Unfortunately for me, its standard procedure for shipping, ago it goes by weight and distance. My first bill was an ugly one.

A&E is definitely a top tier soap brand for me. It's not just the actual shave but the post shave feel that really gives me enjoyment. The only other soap that has a somewhat similar post shave for me is WK. My A&E soap favorites so far:

Spartacus
Amber Rose
Which One's Pink
Grecian Horse

Anybody tried The Novelist? Can you comment on the scent?

I have not used that, but I'm wondering about the new base formula also. I'm not sure exactly off the top of my head which one is the new base, has anybody tried it also?
