I have to admit, I am a loader.  I don't hold back when I am loading a soap.  I figure I have soaps to last me a lifetime, so why hold back?

So, are you stingy when loading your soap, or are you like me, a loader that loves to see and feel all that heavenly lather all over my face?

No right or wrong, just something fun, plus curiosity  Smile

You know me Hector, I load it like it's my last shave in this lifetime. I don't consider it wasteful, I consider it my duty!

Neither. When I started out I was very stingy. Once I learned better, I overcompensated a bit, particularly when I was using boar brushes. Now that I'm almost exclusively a synthetic user, I try to get things just right from the start. I have hard water, and I'm a head shaver who head lathers. If I overload, it takes way too long to get my lather right.

Great question: I am a LOADER.

I have found that any problems with lather, hard water etc. could be all but eliminated, regardless of soap, if I just loaded enough. I would say I probably load an average of at least a minute for hard soaps. A while back when Nathan shared his glossy lather technique I actually weighed a couple of soaps, pre and post load and it was around 2g per shave.

A visual that made sense early on for me as I started with creams was to load enough soap to get the equivalent of an almond size dollop of cream and head to the races.

Man, I feel like I am a loader, but these soaps do not seem to be going down fast enough.

I did found one that did, but realized it was a cream.

As The Stallion says, "load it like you hate it", and my lathers have been better ever since.

I don't think too much about it but would have to say I'm definitely more one who loads the brush than not.
