Are These Plats Genuine?

I have some Gillette Platinums that came from Amazon.  I'm concerned that they're not genuine.  There's no markings on one side and they feel ever so slightly thinner, though I haven't measured thickness yet.

How can I tell if they're genuine??

Mine are like that - ordered from Razor Blades Club, which has proven itself to be a legit vendor.

Because of concerns about counterfeit blades, the PPI plant in Russia that produces many of the Gillette, Astra, and 7 O'Clock blades has started to use laser etching, I do not know if all of their production lines have been converted. That is far more difficult to fake than the ink stamps on the blades. The etch is only done on one side, so the back side is clean (except for the wax dots). Although it could be possible that the blades are counterfeit, the chances of that are remote. There may still be older ink-stamped blades in inventory at some vendors, so you might get either version.

Well, I've used them twice in a GC .84.  And they shave quite nicely.  I'm not a very technical guy, but I find them sharp enough for my average whiskers.  And in the GC they shave smoothly.  I'll go four shave on it.  Then I'll try to compare it to a GSB.

I have some of the blades that Razor Blades Club calls “Gillette Platinum New,” and the blades look similar, except they have “Gillette” lasered twice, with no mention of “Platinum”. The other side of the blades is blank.

The packaging for those ones is the solid medium blue with white text. Why there are two different versions of the Platinum – well, that would be interesting to know…

Likely the marketing folks.  

Excedrin comes in about four or five "flavors" but the ingredient list is identical.  Kinda like most Crest toothpaste.  Cavity Fighter, whitening, etc.  all the same formula.

P&G people have the marketing shtick pretty well honed.
