Thanks! The name “Tuxedo Dog” just made sense to me. More than the alternative, “Whipped Tuxedo”.
I say we just use the Tuxedo Dog name for our brushes from here on out. It’s official. It’s a thing.

I think that I have already found the perfect knot for me although I am still curious about the Tuxedo knot due to all of the great things that I've read and also because it looks cool. Does anyone know how it compares to the newer Whipped Dog synthetic? I prefer the least amount of backbone possible and no scratchiness whatsoever. I find the Plisson style knots a bit too harsh for me but if this is considerably softer, then I might really enjoy it. I love synthetic knots in general and I'm really glad to see some innovation in this area.

Sorry to say, I don’t have the newest iteration of the Whipped Dog synthetic knot, but the Tuxedo to me feels very similar to the previous knots Whipped Dog was using (about a year ago).

I find that the Tuxedo has no scratchiness, and if you set it as high in the handle as possible, there will only be a small amount of backbone. I set mine in the standard Whipped Dog handle at the default height, and really enjoy it. If you were to use a thin spacer to raise the knot slightly, there should be even less backbone.
