You're right there.

Really, the thing that protects you the most is the law that makes credit card issuers liable provided you inform them of any fraudulent charges within a certain time period. I wouldn't ever attach a regular bank account to any app.

To give you perspective, we’re a generation or two into people who regularly do their banking through apps provided by their banks and some have never attached it to a PC.

Fortunately there's so much even-lower-hanging fruit...

I’m not sure what you mean here.

I get that there’s a general hesitancy towards new tech, especially considering privacy, but the reality is that the law, banks, and credit card issuers want to make sure your money stays with them so they can continue to profit with it.

I grew up having to have my bank book signed any time I wanted to do a transaction. But now I’m happy to manage my bank, bills, investments, and online shopping (only ever use a credit card as they have my back should anything go south) all from the comfort of my phone. Again, for the last 10 years I've had no issue. Why do you think banks aren’t building new branches any more? Big Grin

I’ve had my car broken into more times in those ten years than I’ve had issues with Financial tech.
