Quote:Why shave for dollars when you can shave for pennies? That was the idea behind the Penny Shaver, One Blade Cartridge Razor. It's the newest venture of the man behind AP Shave Co. and will be aimed at the mass market under Penny Shave Inc. (website development currently underway).

The penny shaver is great for all types of shavers including wet shavers and those potentially on the fence about wet shaving. This razor is unisex and works on all types of hair.

See below for a list of benefits for all types of shavers!

Very reminiscent of the Gillette Guard (India). Looking at the 25 pack of refills, it's about 50¢ a piece. I would have to research the Guard to see how it compares these days, price wise. [Image: b5e9a2179d9eb6b7b6630dd90666979d.jpg]

The guard is a pretty nice razor, considering its utility and what it was designed for. The problem I've had with mine is it's very unforgiving. If you have the slightest bump, pimple, etc., etc. on your face or head (I use mine to shave my head), it'll shave it clean off. I typically will only grab my guard if I haven't shaved my head in 7-10+ days as it takes FOREVER using my skin guard at that point.

for the price, I'll pick this one up and give it a go.

I use a Gillette Guard regularly for touchups and yes I have accidentally gone "heavy handed" with it and raised some serious razor bumps. Don't let the light weight trick you.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I'll be looking forward to your report with interest, Andrew.  I'm wondering if that unforgiving nature of the Guard won't be the same with this.  If it proves to be better than the Guard in that respect then it could be a winner.

The razor arrived on Friday. I'm out of town until Monday evening but it'll be my razor of choice for my head shave on Monday or Tuesday night.

I used the penny shaver last night for my head shave. This razor, to me, is like an amalgamation between the gillette mach 3, skin guard and guard. the handle, overall frame of the cartridge head and pivoting action are pretty similar to the mach 3 and skin guard, but the comb and blade portion of the head resemble the guard. The pivoting action on the penny shaver is stiffer than my skin guard.

The shave itself...the handle has a nice weight to it, definitely something I prefer in my mach 3 and skin guard over the guard. the blade is stupid sharp, which I kind of expected since it looks a lot like the gillette guard and it isn't very forgiving to any type of bump, uneven or high spots on your head as it'll shave it clean off - I had a few nicks after the shave myself. The razor rinsed clean easily, which was nice.

I don't know that this will be an every day type of razor for me to use, but it was cheap enough to try.......nothing has dethroned my beloved gillette skin guard...yet.

I was thinking to try the penny shaver, but not decided yet.
Actually, I was searching for an electronic razor. My wife said I have a so I included this in my search. What I found is an interesting article about Shavers for Sensitive Skin. Here's the link https://bathroomer.org/electric-shaver-f...tive-skin/. it is said that it is important to choose between rotary and foil shavers. Rotary shavers have been reported to cause skin irritation.
Just wanted to ask what people here think about it.

Thanks
