Ok, Zingari is a lot better. Not really in the same league. Based on this shave, I'd much rather spend the extra few bucks for a backup Zingari than buy a different soap.

The unique thing about no scents... it means they're all duplicates. Might as well have the best.

I'm still glad I tried it. Can't beat the price for the Stirling soap samples. They're cheap and huge.

I actually tried a CK6 scentless PAA today based on the review it beat Zingari.  I can’t say much about Zingari but the post shave is not as good as the stirling sheep for me.

Now I can say when Frank make a scentless, I can Imagine the wow response.  I normally use Ethos 95% of the time and it just is in a different league.

I tried Scentsless a month or two ago. It didn't work well for me.

I am steering clear from Ethos F-base, as it has Lanolin. However, his Tallow Cream was an amazing soap, IMO. I do like hard soaps, for tub loading. I thought the cream I had previously was rather firm, but I've seen posts that make me think I may have had an anomaly. Still, I may try the Cream when it comes out again. I'll need to see if it's in the cards at the time.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.

So I ordered a backup of Zingari unscented the other day. This got me thinking, and in figured I'd share a glimpse of my insanity...

So, I measured my current tub. Minus the tub weight it is about 3.5oz left. So, I've used 1.5 oz since I did my first shave on 7/1.

I know I shaved with other soaps and I'm fairly certain it has been 3 times total. So, that means it is about 20 shaves (every other day here) for 1.5 oz.

That calculates to ~65 shaves per container. It's also been just shy of a month and a half for those same 1.5 oz.. I'm guessing, time-wise, I'll eek in just over 5 months per container?

So, container 1 should be done around the end of October and container 2 should take me through February 2024.

I don't have a way to calculate the Macduffs, at this point, but I can guarantee it isn't going to last as long as the harder Zingari soap. It's also only 4oz. Still, I do have ~2 oz left of that one fwiw.

Wow, when you calculate it all like that I'm waaaay understocked on soap (in comparison). Counting those I don't love, but do use, I have probably 1500-1700 blades. Regardless of where it falls in that range, we're talking north of 4 years at 2 shaves per blade (4 days). For the 400+ Nacets in my den (?), I usually go three shaves.

Okay... For those who didn't give up halfway through, I apologize for wasting your time.

Hey Paul, your calculations seem to agree with what I noted when I was tracking fewer soaps. Many seemed to have around 40 or so shaves. I will not calculate how many days' worth of soap I now have  Mad

Lol. Well, I think we're in different places, in that respect...

I have only 2 soaps, with a backup copy of the Zingari en route. So I'm cautiously looking to add two or three more. I definitely don't want to go back to as many as I once had... which at one point was in the realm of 28? I just don't need a stock of 28 unscented soaps. We shall see, though. One acquisition at a time.

Edit: Just to keep the casual reader in the know. When I say that I didn't want to go back to 28 soaps, think of it as you having 56 soaps. Because I'm an every other day shaver.

Used my newly received Overlander Aluminum this evening. What a good shave. It's only been one shave, but I have no complaints so far. The same general performance I got from the Brass, but in a lighter version.

I think I made a good choice grabbing an Aluminum OL. Time will tell for sure.[Image: 4abc6ccbad3b19e46cc9cbb9d458ee43.jpg]

Looks great! Everytime the Overlander is used, I ask myself why do I use other razors?! Variety, I guess.

Thanks Eric! I love the look with the colored baseplate. I believe the baseplate selection is a newer addition? I'm glad Chris started doing this. It really adds character.

As we discussed over in your journal... I decided to order a replacement APShaveCo knot last night. I really like the SynBads (not to mention all the other APSC knots I've used in the past). Andrew really does great work. I can't leave this brush imperfect. Fingers crossed this time...

Happy Sunday folks!

Edit: Make that 2 knots... I slipped an extra one in, prior to shipping.
