AliExpress is having an anniversary sale for the next so many hours so I jumped on a brush to replace one I originally bought but was too small (24mm), as I really liked the finish.

This 26mm variant is en route and will hopefully arrive later in April. I have high hopes for the knot, as it's supposedly similar to the G5C. I'll know soon enough. [Image: 4aed2511505099d1723ba583cbb6564b.jpg]

Something is obviously mixed up in their stock system. So, back to the drawing board. Sigh.
Welp, maybe I'm a glutton for punishment but I'm trying my luck at another Amazon blade order. This time I am only ordering the 100 packs (still the Dorco Prime)... 3 of them, to start.

Some of the reviews claim missing tucks from their packs, so we'll see if my decision was smart or foolish.

This evenings shave was basically the same, and I'm happy with the monotony if it works this well:

Al Overlander - Dorco Prime (1st use) - Stirling Sheep Soap - Stirling Glacial Balm - PAA Star Jelly - Dscosmetic 26mm T4 in the "Green monster" (lol)

Have a great evening folks!

Hey Paul!

By my tally I have used Sheep 40 times so far this year. Today I saw the bottom of the tub. I surely don't mind monotomy when the process is so enjoyable!

That's what I need to do... keep a more definitive count of my shaves with these soaps. I feel like I go through them so quickly (and I'm sure I do). It might be nice to have a quantifiable number.

I've only used the current Macduffs once, so it'll be a good place to start (if I can remember to keep up with it). The Stirling is too far in at this point... but on the next tub, I'll try counting that one too.

I would encourage you to do that.  I use a spreadsheet like approach, with columns for ShaveDate, Brush, Soap, Razor, Blade, Blades Uses, Pre, Post, Blood Level, Irritation Level, Result (CCS, DFS, BBS, etc.), and general remarks.  I find out all sorts of useful things about usage and performance.  It may be my age, but I find data that is easy to slice and dice is much more reliable and informative than my aging memory.  Some examples:
  • I used the Level 1 Dart 18 times in 2018, and 3 times since.  Time to sell?
  • Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet is my most used soap, probably in part because it has been in the den for a very long time.  The donut hole in my first jar appeared after the 22nd shave
  • Too much vanilla in a soap lights me up real bad.

Good luck with what ever you approach you take.

Another shave #2 with the Prime... another shave with the Stirling Sheep... another shave with the Overlander... another shave with the Stirling Glacial PSB... another awesome Shave!

Yep. I know I'm boring... but at least I'm happy with it.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter tomorrow![Image: 9bef4af5db38cd8299081814aa1b8b28.jpg]

Boring is fine by me! It can make for the best shaves. And the opposite is that supposedly Chinese curse of "may you live in interesting times!"
