I purchased this old mug at an estate sale recently.

Does anyone know when it was made or any other details?

Thanks in advance

I had one and have no idea. I always like the print shaving mug on it rather than the ships names. Just got this in on a lot purchase and know nothing of it either.....

Wow, great link Dave!

I think you hit it spot on for Paul's.

I didn't realize it, but my brush mug is the original 48 glass mug (01 to be specific). My soap mug (with the cap) is a 61-64 (06 Design).

According to this, yours is also the original (only one with that script of an S, I believe). If yours has a ridge in the bottom to hold soap, it's an 02... Otherwise, an 01. I wonder why yours has so different of a base? Unless... Yours is an older hulll pottery mug:

I didn't realize they had this many designs. Really neat info.

No ridges in mine to hold soap and is definitely Hull Pottery with a lot of crazing.

I love those mugs, something about that particular art work and the 'friendship' scrolling is so cool to me.
