I also have many 3 piece DE razors capable of removing 10-15 days growth in a single pass and still be completely smooth and comfortable on passes 2, 3, and 4. Never being anything remotely close to harsh. Harsh gets put on BST pretty fast. What kind of razors do you use that are acceptable in the first pass but get harsh after?
The only time I use 2 razors is to compare them side-by-side. I don't head shave and I am not a daily shaver. Just whenever the mood strikes or the occasion requires it.
Don’t use used razor gear. OCD reasons. Don’t ask. Just don’t.
I sold all my DE razors in 2016/2017, went back to a mix of Fusion 5 & Mach 3 and had excellent shaves. Got bored.
Bought 3 new DE razors two weeks ago.
The efficient razors I didn’t enjoy so much for the final pass were: ATT widest blade gap plate, ikon widest blade gap, R41, Merkur Slant, Fatip etc.
The too mild razors I didn’t enjoy for the first pass on 3-4 days stubble were: Feather Stainless, R89/DE89, Pils Stainless steel, Ikon mild, ATT mildest and I forgot.
