Hi DFS Gents

Well it’s been sometime I’ve been  trying to figure out best way to Antique Brass on my Charcoal Goods razors the way Brain Twilley does and I finnaly found the best way and it works and mind you it’s a procedure with Patience and done by piece by piece. I want that nice texture and contrast to antique look for me it’s a must and every piece looks unique and different!!

Now this is not my particular field in antiquing brass as I’m more specialized in polishing jewelry, watches and other high end stuff with precious materials..

I also want to Thank to JimmyH and MaxSprecher for some tips “how to” and also I reached out to Brian Twilley for advice and see how he does it if possible to share..everyone have their receipe and I Highly Respect that..

Material being used is “Brichwood Casey” Brass black as many of you would know by the brand I assume and lastly we need Brass Laquer only Brand  that works it’s called “Mohawk” Brass Laquer now let me explain if you observe some of Brian’s work handle seems to have laquer but not top cap and baseplate as it would Create that natural look as you use the razor over time..but I do contrast by hand over and over again till I think it’s good and have that perfect Antique Contrast as we expect..

I have been playing with it for about 2-3 months and did many variations with it and finnaly here it is as you can see photos below I did for someone and will post more photos as I will do my own CG in coming weeks between my work and my shop it’s tough but I do it out of passion and share with all of my DFS folks  Happy2

Now I do apply laquer on all my antique brass but I do with professional spray gun and do about 2-3 light even coats you’ll notice nothing and no geometry etc..would change as I do bake it in certain temperature after it’s done..

I did invest in this and cost me quite bit for ventilation in my workshop, New Air Compressor, Spray Gun etc nothing was cheap as I choose top shelf quality products lol as I usually do oh well at least I have passion for it and enjoy doing it..

Hope you like it and Helps  Happy2 more photos will come as I do!!

I can offer services to Antique 3 piece razor $100 USD plus Shipping costs to cover!! This is for my material my time doing it so when I can and timeframe given to finish it!

Best Regards

Alan H
