AMAZON: Item classified as hazardous - Cannot be Delivered

I was shopping colognes and splashes and most all contain this warning on the product 

This item can't be delivered to the selected delivery location
because it is classified as hazardous material.
Please choose a different delivery location.

I looked at Fine Platinum, Calvin Klein Obsession, English Leather, Proraso After Shave Lotion, Davidoff Cool Water After Shave, Aspen by Coty, Stetson Cologne Splash.

Every one was shipped from Amazon, and several were sold by Amazon too.  Who could think of a finer way to cap off the holiday season shipping?  Well, Happy New year to us.

Never been an issue here.  The problem seems to be only with items shipped from Amazon, regardless of the seller.  It even applies to sanitary hand towels containing (denatured) alcohol - but not to ones where the active ingredient is Benzethonium Chloride.  I only encountered it beginning yesterday. 

I suspect that one or more of Amazon's shipping contracts expired on 1/5/2021, but that is just a surmise on my part.

Weird. At what point does the notice appear? I just tried adding an alcohol-based aftershave to my cart & did the first step of checkout without seeing anything (Indiana address)...

Does your item ship from Amazon? 

I have found two factors that govern when the message appears:

1. The message only appears it the item is shipped by Amazon, BUT ...
   
2.  If the item has a Subscribe and save option, then the message only appears after "One-time purchase" is selected.
   

I just reconfirmed this on a Proraso aftershave product page.
