Arguably fresh fruit cake is "almost edible" for most.

I don't know why fruitcake has such a bad reputation. I like it.

The worst gift is a fruitcake. There is only one fruitcake in the entire world, and people keep sending it to each other."

I used to collect them from friends and family every xmas. They are awesome about Feb or Mar. They are better with a little age on them.

Man! What lengths does a guy have to go to to rid themselves of an unwanted fruitcake? And like a bad penny, the thing turns up again!! You'd think shipping it to the south pole would have ensured it stayed down Big Grin

Ship it to me. I guarantee you won't see it again. I like it.

Do you soak it in rum? Big Grin That can make them more palatable. Can, but usually not....

I never had it soaked in rum, but yes that would definitely make it edible for lots of folks. I'll have to try that next time I have some to see how I like it that way.

I tried to buy the ingredients to make one last year and they weren't available. If I want to make one this year I'll first try online for the candied fruits. BTW, I've never made one so it would be my first.
