As I mentioned in another thread, my friend, Mike, and I got the new Stirling boar brush because we both liked the look of the handle.  However, we wanted synthetic knots and thought a tuxedo would look good in it.  This afternoon, Mike removed the boar and replaced it with a Maggard (sorry ezlovan Sad) 24mm tuxedo synthetic knot.  He'll be posting mine to me soon and I can't wait to give it a spin.

I seriously considered purchasing one of those brushes for the same thing, only I was going to get another black badger knot for it.

Looks fantastic!

Maybe this will rekindle that idea BadDad.  Before sending the brush on to Mike for the reknot, I got to hold it and really like the way it feels in my hand.  Frankly, the handle alone is worth the $7.95 Stirling (ezlovan) is charging for the entire brush.  hawnsChatillon Lux) is using the brush as it came and seems to be enjoying it quite a bit.

Freddy, I love what you had done there with the black and white knot. It looks like it belongs in that handle (better than the boar knot actually). I just ordered that brush and plan to leave the boar knot in it though. I've been using nothing but synthetics lately, which I love, but it's time to change it up a bit. I can't wait to start breaking this puppy in! Let us know how you like the Maggard "tuxedo". I hope you enjoy the brush, it looks awesome.

Jeff, I'll let you know as soon as I get it from Mike. Smile

Although I have really been into synthetics lately (especially my Stirling Kong), I like to change it up, also.  Today, I used my Omega 10098 Professional boar (sometimes called The Paintbrush).  I've had it for so long that the tips are beautifully soft and there is just enough backbone to it.  This is another inexpensive brush that I consider a real winner for feel and lather producing ability even if it will never win a beauty contest.

Wow that came out great.

Amazes me how a different knot can make a handle shine.

The handle is turned resin? Is it hefty for it's size? I'm picturing two band finest badger...

It certainly doesn't look like cheap molded plastic. I'll know more about the weight with the new knot when I get it.

Well, you've convinced me. Once I have enough cash, I'll be placing an order for brushes in that handle with the black and white synthetic knot.

Out of all the higher end 2 & 3 bands in the den maybe the Rooney Finest or gel tip 2 bands of yesteryear can compete with these new Tuxedo knots. They are that good. I love the 26 & 28mm sizes. Beautiful brush Freddy.
