With proper wet shaving prep I can certainly get as close a shave with a Fusion/Mach 3 as with my Wolfman, RAW or Karve, Blackbird and on. Expensive yes, but look at the price of a Wolfman or RAW -10.

I can’t wait to try the new Gillette SkinGuard next month.

Their marketing campaign is interesting and completely contradicts what they have been saying for years now. I just thought it was funny that they are adding less blades now. Doesn't have anything to do with the word in bold on my part. Can't speak for others though.

personally I couldn't care less about shaving my face with a cartridge, but what I do like to follow the cartridge scene for is shaving my head. to me it's just so much quicker to use a cartridge/headblade for shaving my head than a SE/DE razor.

the real problem I have with cartridges is that they tend to get expensive quick. from the original article, they do seem expensive:

Quote:Consumers will begin to see Gillette SkinGuard on shelves of major food, drug & mass stores across the United States as early as December 2018, with roll-out continuing into early 2019. It will also be available through Gillette On Demand in early 2019. Gillette SkinGuard is available for a suggested retail price of $7.99 for a handle and one cartridge; refill cartridges can be purchased for $8.99 for two cartridges or $17.99 for four cartridges. Final pricing is at the sole discretion of the retailer.

It does indeed contradict what they (Gillette) have been promoting for years. They really do their research and testing so the move back to two blades looks encouraging.

I always use DE’s at home but carts for travel/short trips. I’ve come to much prefer great carts for head shaving. M3, Hydro3, and Headblade Moto for up above. Pretty quick and easy BBS.

Andrew, I’ve been using Personna Twins ($14 x100) with the Moto and they are great!

I'll typically mix up my head shaves between the gillette mach 3, gillette3, schick xtreme 3, gillette guard and a headblade sport with either the personna tri-flexxx or the gillette sensor replacement blades (I believe).

my favorite overall is the mach 3. I don't really notice any difference between the mach 3 and the gillette3, personally. for ease of use and speed, the headblade is probably the way to go.

are these the personna blades you're using? https://www.amazon.com/Personna-Twin-TWI...B003MFXWUA

do you know if they'll clip into place on the older headblade models?

Not sure on the older models but they fit the Moto with the yellow adapter not the black one.

I think my sport came with the yellow adapter as well. I'll have to check.
