A Banning in Two Parts

Slow day today, so thought I'd post about how I got banned from #Badger&Blade,
since I have the receipts.

I would have loved to have gone down all barrels blazing....but talk about going out with 
an absolute whimper.

By now, y'all know about my rant about the shit I had to go through with my Tatara 
razor return. 

After posting about it on B&B, I asked them to close the thread. Then I tried linking to that post
in my signature but the URL was too long...so I put the DFS link to the same thread in my 
siggy...which apparently is against the rules.

Next day I found this PM in my inbox:




So I removed the link as he asked and this is the exchange that followed:




After this last message, the guy banned me...for "being a dick" in his words. Imagine that.

I think my replies to him are so courteous.

Anyway, this isn't a feel-sorry-for-me post... I've been wanting to tell this story because to
me it illustrates just how petty things can get.

Given the flow of events, I can only assume Chris shaves with a Tatara Razor. 

I got banned as well. They accused me of selling a new razor as used. I posted a SOTD with a razor that I had 2 of. Instead of asking me how can I sell this razor as new they basically accused me of not being truthful and banned me. I explained this to them and still got banned.

Thanks for posting that Tester28 , it helps put things into perspective.  Here at DFS, while we are far from perfect, you can still be a dick and not get banned.  At least not right away   

There was a lot of discussion among the moderators recently regarding a bst thread and while we were not initially in agreement as to what should be done, at the end of the day I believe the ultimate decision, which fell to andrewjs18  was the right one.

The moderators at B&B seem like high school kids who got bullied and now they have some power they use it. I have never had any problems with DFS, TSN or 10 Facebook shaving forums I am a member of.

OP. Don't take it personally. The Mods on the B&B (especially Chris) are dictators and tools who only care about trying to make money.

I was recently banned on the B&B Forum too, from none other than Chris "CleanShaved". He clearly takes a lot of pride in Banning members there for BS reasons.

Here's the story:

He saw some of my brush handle pics in the "Brush Making section" of the B&B. He must have thought they looked good because he did some independent internet sleuthing... only to discover I sell them on Etsy. I made no mention of my Etsy shop on the B&B forum whatsoever, but that didn't matter. Chris told me I must become a PAYING Merchant to post handle build pics and talk to other handle makers. The ridiculous "fee" to be a merchant on B&B is a whopping $600 for the first year and $500 for each year after. Lol. I obviously declined and told them I would not post any pics of my handles moving forward.

Not long after that, I was using my iphone Tapatalk app and saw where a guy I posted a pic of one of my handles and was talking about it. I replied to his post thinking I was on DFS (because that's where this gentleman and I always converse)... but actually I was replying on the B&B forum. Total accident and I was immediately banned. I send a message to the Mods there explaining my mistake while using the app, but they just ignored me and ya, I'm permabanned.

Fun times.

PS. I know there are a fair number of other DFS Members who have been banned on B&B for stupid reasons too. Anyone remember the Stirling Soap story on B&B? Proves my point that the Mods there are only out to make $$

What a brutal reason to ban a member. Those fees are unacceptable too, unless a merchant can make 100x that amount to justify paying that in the first place. I've never got on the bad side of things with the mods there, but it does feel like one has to walk on eggshells over there...

I don't think I was around for the Stirling soap story. If I was, I never heard it. Can you elaborate?

While I totally disagree with the way you posted the Tatara incident, and would have intervened on your behalf if asked, banning as a resolution is an outrage.

That stated, not confident of having high regard for anybody that hasn't been banned from Badger & Blade; it almost a badge of honour that any respectable man would be banned from that site, typically without the decency and courtesy of a heads up, opportunity to defend self nor appellate process.
